I was using this product a few months, then it broke. My husband was trying to repair it, we changed batteries... Nothing. I went to Brookstone shop where we bought it, and they could not help me. Because their product have only 40 days return policy and 1 year guarantee. Very disappointing experience with Brookstone company and their hands free soap dispenser... Will not buy from them anymore.

I won't rave about it, but neither will I criticize it. It pumps soap when you put something under the spout, hands, sponge, cloth, whatever and that is what it is suppose to do. Does it do it quickly, no. But it works and it is easy to use. The soap may have to be diluted with a little water if it is too concentrated. One word of caution do not pull your hands out from under the spout to stop the flow, else you will see soap spill onto your counter. Rather than pulling out, simply drop down and the flow will stop when you reach the counter.

I loved the dispenser so much with soap in it. So I bought another one for sanitzer. I hung them both on walls. Very convenient to have around!

Brookstone generally makes very good products. Since the dispenser has a one year guarantee I don't understand why the previous reviewer didn't exercise the one year warranty since he said it broke after a few months. I will be purchasing another Brookstone dispenser, this time from Amazon, but if I have a problem after 30 days I will deal directly with the manufacturer for my warranty rights.

my husband got this for me for Christmas of '09 it worked great in my kitchen. I'm a very big germ nut, so it was great until one morning it had emptied all the soap into my kitchen sink. We thought it was the batteries but after replacing them it still did the same thing. :(

I was shopping for an automatic dispenser and I came across thisto replace the one I had. I found it very good. The only thing is I had beige in my kitchen and this one is silver. But the disoenser is excellent.

I received this as a gift and was thrilled because I do a lot of cooking and thought it would let me keep the soap dispense clean when I need to wash my hands. All was fine for about 2 1/2 months. Then the $40 gift started dispensing soap at will, even when no one was in the kitchen. Does Brookstone stand behind their product? No! I can't return it to a store for a refund or exchange because it was a gift and I don't have a receipt. Even if I had a receipt, too much time has passed (I guess a 1 year warranty only lasts 30 days). I always thought Brookstone was some high class organization. The store by me is in one of the most exclusive malls in the Northeast. For goodness sakes, I can return an item to Kohls without a receipt for a year and get a full refund, but I have to pay to ship a defective item to Brookstone to get the latest sale price, and only in a gift card. Do I really want another piece of junk from Brookstone?

Yes, I'm pissed, but don't position yourself as some high-end store and then charge me to replace your defective merchandise. Maybe the clientele they're trying to attract can afford it. I can't. Can you?

This was the second automatic soap dispenser I tried. The first one was a disaster and I took great pleasure in tossing it. I was rewarded by getting this Brookstone dispenser, I am a fan but usually use their great electronic accessories. This dispenser has not let me down yet. It works great every time! I am already putting it on my shopping list for great gifts, the price is reasonable and the quality is good. The only problem I encountered and it is not really a big problem is the spout, I find it too close to the dispenser, you have to hold your hand basically touching the dispenser or the soap will miss your hand. I had a few false starts, but now I get the soap every time!

I really recommend this product and am sure you would not be disappointed!
