I bought the iconvert to convert old family videos into DVD form. It was extremely easy to set-up and use. I thought this would be an extremely easy process and was horribly caught off guard when I kept running into problems. So after paying $99 + tax for an i converter, another $40 for a SD card, and $50 for an SD card reader (I'm a mac user) I found that this converter screwed you because it only saves in a AFS format... which means that it can only be run it the Windows Media Player ONLY. Being a Mac user, I than had to buy a video converter so that it would change the AFS format to a more practical format. Once I was able to finally see my video in iMovie, it turns out the iconvert (the one from Brookstone) couldn't properly record the sound from the VHS and there is a 6 second sound delay!!!!!!

Do not waste your money on this!!!!!! It cannot match the audio up from your VHS to the SD memory card so it's a total waste of time. You're better of waiting for something better to come along.

Power light on box went off and on for no reason, as did the "record" light. Consequently was only able to record a few snippets of tape successfully. Called customer service, they said they do not "support" this product but I could take it back to my local Brookstone store for an exchange, which I did. That one did not work at all.

The converter arrived in a very short period of time. i was pleasantly surprised! And my husband loves it. he is convetrting all of our vhs and camcorder tapes over to dvd
