A Classic Collector's Book, January 17, 2010
This review is from: Broomhandle Pistol 1896-1936 (Hardcover)
I don't know of anything really bad you can say about this book, except possibly the price. One look at the price, and you can tell it's not everybody's cup of tea. That is, unless like me, you are both a collector of this kind of weapon, and a lover of Out-of-Print classics on firearms.
Of the three primarily recognized American books on the subject of the Mauser "Broomhandle" Pistol, this is without a doubt the best of the three. Like most Scotch-Irsh, I would prefer a more reasonable price, but that's not going to happen, unless someone buys the rights to the book and rekprints it. While that would be great for the rank and file collector, it would still seem a shame for the rest of us.
Ah, but I digress. The quality of the printing, the cover, the photos; no one could ask for more. And while, all of the books on this subject have errors in the information provided, Erickson and Pate's book provide the least inconsistancies.
