It was nice to go from book to book and keep up with the different stories. This is really three stand alone books in same area. Sometimes characters are mentioned but not pages and pages from last book. each of the books is about a different characters and different crimes in the area. Very enjoyable read, no graphic sex, thank you for that, no swearing but full on excitement. Loved the way the hero reasoned out each crime for each book.

This is an awesome series with characters who are so real and believable that you can't help but get drawn into them and their stories... I would definitely not mind getting arrested in Broslin Creek or being in protective custody...lol ... Dana Marton is an amazing author who gives you stories you can't put down once you start and then can't wait for the next one....

DEATHWATCH: Plenty of action and suspense in this introduction to the Broslin Creek series.

Right from the start the author pulls you into an intriguing story. The heroine, Kat Bridges is watching her own funeral from a surveillance van in hopes the assassin who killed her friend and who she saw will show up so the FBI can apprehend him. Needless to say this doesn’t go well. Many explosions later Kat decides to make a run for it on her own realizing the FBI couldn’t protect her and it would keep her family safe.

Murphy Dolan is a police officer in Broslin Creek. He is just returning home from Afghanistan injured after losing his whole team on a mission gone bad. All he wants to do is get back to normal and get his body back in shape so he can start back at his job as a police officer. What he didn’t expect to find in his home was a woman asleep in his bed claiming she had a lease to be there.

Kat and Murphy tragic pasts made these two compelling to read. Kat had been in foster care for almost all of her childhood. She had been an angry child with violent tendencies before she was adopted by a loving couple that turned her around and then as an adult to want to help other children who were going through what she did. Murphy didn’t have a good childhood either but he decided he was going to not be a statistic and fought on the good side of the law and in the service until the tragic incident that killed his men and left him with a huge hole in his heart and suffering from anxiety and PTSD. I've never seen to people more perfect for each other in so many ways.

In a suspense book the author always leaves us clues as to who the bad guy is. You try and figure it out before the end and shout with glee when you are right.

4 1/2 stars

Dana Marton has a deft hand at writing intriguing romantic suspense. I had the pleasure of reading her 'Broslin Creek' series which includes Deathscape, Deathtrap, and Deathwatch and I am under the impression that the next title (Deathblow) should be released in December (yay!). These tales artfully combine thrilling adventures with a enhancing element of paranormal that adds to the chills up one's spine (perfect for this time of the year!).

Reviews for individual titles:

Deathwatch:

“Deathwatch” by Dana Marton is part of the mesmerizing “Broslin Creek” romantic suspense series. Katherine Concord is an unexpected tenant who Murph Dolan discovers when he returns from his fateful deployment. He is surprised to realize that she has almost as many scars as he does and she certainly has plenty of secrets. Their mutual distrust and dislike does not create an auspicious beginning but they soon learn that each can offer the other an unexpected benefit...but the question becomes, will they survive long enough to explore their unwilling attraction to each other?

This is another action-packed suspenseful tale that gives a glimpse of the lives of a woman who has survived multiple traumatic events in her life and a man who bears survivor’s guilt and other unseen scars to go with his physical ones. The tension continues to ratchet up as danger threatens and the author’s ability to create a compelling yet succinct tale is demonstrated once again. I really enjoy this series because the interconnecting threads link the stories yet each stands alone and is unique.

These were very good books. The Second book about the artist was almost too suspenseful for me! If you like suspense, then this series is a must read. Some sex and some language are present in these books though it is not overwhelming.

Dana Marton's Broslin Creek Series is her best writing yet. I do have to issue a warning though, you will be hooked! I can't wait for the next book to come out in the series. The character development is outstanding and the plot lines are compelling! The storylines will have you devouring the pages to see what comes next and the characters will become the friends you didn't know that you were missing! I'm a bit of a tough critic when it comes to murder mysteries and I have to say kudo's to Dana Marton for a series well worth the money to read these books! I've even gotten my husband hooked on the series! We are both have read all the books in this collection and are anxiously awaiting the release of book #4 in the series!
