yuck,
This review is from: Brother 5300 Universal Sewing Machine Carrying Case (Kitchen)
This case is ugly and very cheap looking. It is also way too big for my standard sewing machine. My machine knocks around inside of it, defeating the purpose of a protective case. I did not want to give this item even one star, but the system just works that way.

While the dimensions of this product were certainly given in the description and I take some responsibility for not getting my tape measure out, the picture gave me the impression that the case was more compact than it turned out to be. The fact that it is a "universal" carrying case means that it is much larger than needed to accomodate the sewing machine I bought. This is because it is intended to also accomodate a serger, which is a larger machine. Space considerations were a factor in my decision to purchase a new machine and the unwieldy size of the new case made it unacceptable to me. If space is not a problem, this case would be OK.

Way Too Big!,

The picture of the item is deceiving as its taken from the side, so you can't see how enormous it really is. It takes up too much storage space too. I recommend seeing if the Singer case might fit better.

I have 4 of these cases. I like them because they are indeed larger and have extra 'nooks' for putting the extra accessories, foot pedal, manuals, extra books, material and sometimes a small sewing kit for when I take it to class.
The size is OK for my smaller White 2000 serger and lots of sewing accessories and material; also good for my Elna 744 serger (larger machine) with pedal and extra feet and manuals. If all you want is something just your machine's size, then better get the smaller Singer sewing case. Do some measuring to be sure. This case is for stand alone machine heads and not the type that needs to be attached with the 2 hinge pegs (for flatbed). I'm very happy with these cases for the above reasons.

This case is really good, it fits my 1034D Brothe serger very nicely. The only thing I wish it has, is a compartment below the sewing machine, like with a little trap door or something. but other than that, its great, and it does its job well

Good but too big for my sewing machine,

I think they should have 2 universal sewing cases. 1 For big machines, 1 for small ones. I just bought a small sewing machine and also bought this case. It's good quality, and highly recommend it to protect your machine, but this one it's too big for my machine.
But anyway I can recommend this product, it's good quality and will help you protect your machine.

Do not bother to buy this sewing machine case. It is crappy! Don't be fooled by the "Universal" phrase of this product. I have a Brother sewing machine so i bought this item. When i got it, i placed my sewing machine and it rattles around inside the case. I don't see what is so "Universal" about this. There is too much room inside and my machine tips over to its sides when i lift to carry the case. It's terrible!!! I'd give NO star but i don't have that choice on the selection. I wanted to return it but it's not worth the shipping charge that will show up on my refund due to Amazon's policies. By then i would probably only get at most $12.00 back in refunds.

My new sewing machine that I bought at the same time fits perfect. Light weight and easy to use.

I recently purchased this carrier to accompany my daughter's Brother LS2125I 10-Stitch Free-Arm Sewing Machine. That is a large machine, as sewing machines go. This carrier easily holds it, plus the cords and foot pedal, plus a project book, a couple yards of fabric, and a few small tools such as your pincushion, seam rippers, thread snips and/or shears. This is great if you take the case to class with you, or if you want to store your current project with your sewing machine. For us, it functions like a little self contained sewing center. Want to sew? Everything is in one spot. Need to reclaim your desk or table? Everything goes back in the case. Works very well for that type of in-between-sessions storage.
This is not so good, however, if you are looking for something very compact, or if you want your machine to fit snugly in the case, to prevent knocking about. The case itself is lightweight and sturdy, but once packed full, can be quite heavy. It also easily takes up twice as much room as a large sewing machine. If all you need is sturdy storage for your sewing machine, you can get by with a much smaller case. This particular case measures 12x14x18 inches. My Brother 10-Stitch measures 6x13x15 inches (with the thread spool in the retracted position,) which means that the case more than doubles the volume needed for storing my machine. All in all, I was pleased with the purchase, since my main objective was to keep things clean, together and undamaged in between sewing sessions on the dining room table. It does that quite well. However if I was going to travel with my machine, I would recommend 1) a smaller case and a lightweight machine, and 2) carrying your other supplies in a separate totebag, so you don't have a big 25 pound package to lug around. Lastly, shop around for price. I was disappointed when the price on this case dropped by five dollars the week after I purchased it. I paid $30, and it was worth it for us to have it here for Christmas, but $25 or $20 (which is the cost of a generic case at a bigbox store) would have been better. Why pay more than you have to?

My machine is alot smaller then this case, so it does move around when I carry it... if I had seen it before purchasing I probably would not have got it, but it does pertect it if I'm not moving around too much... I guess that's what you get with a "Universal" case.
