I have used several Brother label makers, all of which use the TZ series tapes. Of those tapes, my two favorite are black on white in this width and the ½" width. I prefer the 3/8" width for manila folders because the label fits nicely on the tab near the top edge, making the print easy to read when the manila folder is in a file cabinet. The only drawback to this size tape is that it is actually more expensive than the ½" tape.

There is also a 3/8" tape that is black on clear. However, the clear tapes also show any dirt or debris that might be trapped behind the tape. Thus, if you are in an environment that has even a small amount of dirt or other contamination, it may be readily visible against a light background after the tape is positioned.

One other caution regarding these tapes; the backing can be difficult to remove. The newer tape cartridges have a split backing that is easier to remove than the original single piece backing. Even so, a certain amount of manual dexterity is required to remove the backing.

This tape adheres readily; the print is nicely defined and has a high contrast. The tape can be slightly difficult to handle. Overall, this tape is very useful in a variety of applications and one of my two favorite label maker tapes.

I love my P-Touch labeller - my kitchen, my office and my bathroom all show signs of avid labeling. I was excited to get additional tapes and this was a great price - they work as advertised!

I have purchased several brother label tapes (all black print on white background)and like them all. Read other reviews to avoid wasting a lot of tape each time you print a label.

Not much to say about this. I ran out of tape in my label maker so I ordered this one from Amazon. It arrived quickly and I didn't have any issues with it.

Really like the TZ tapes! Backing splits down the middle length wise, easy to peel off backing. They also seem to STICK real well.

Brother TZ tapes are the most reliable and durable label tapes we've used. Generic ones just don't cut it.
1/2-inch is our most used size.
3/8-inch is perfect for those narrow places where 1/2-inch is too wide.
Just wish the 3/8 was cheaper.

This is a great product, but it's not cheap and it wastes alot of tape. That said, it works so well that we keep buying refills. The labels are clear, durable and super easy to create.

The backing stuck to the 3/8 tape at times. I did not have this problem with the 1/2 size.

Great product but its sure a waste of tape with 1/2 inch of extra tape on every print. can't someone send this to Japan and design it right?
