Great Album, Great Music,
This review is from: Brother (Audio CD)
Well, Before I start reviewing this album let me say one thing "I hate mainstream music nowadays". The music played on the radio that everybody listens to, the "popular" music by "pop" artists nowadays dominating the music industry is really not my thing. I'm not saying that *everybody* should hate it, people have different tastes and opinions I just personally *dislike* it because it's meaningless, auto-toned, and all it takes about is drugs, alcohol and having sex with random people. Maybe if I was high or a pot head I would enjoy it, maybe if I was dancing in a night club I would enjoy it but when I'm doing a homework or when I need inspiration or feeling down for one reason or the other I won't be listening to it. However, fortunately "not" all music today is about sex and drugs there are some artists and musicians who can actually sing and have good songs produced who actually mean something. Those artists are found mostly outside the US because the music industry in the states is controlled by mainstream music who is monitored by money gripping companies which only allow certain type of songs to play on the radio thus making it popular.Irish Band "Boyzone" has been around for quite some time now since the 1990s and I have been a follower of their works since the early albums songs like No Matter What, Isn't it a Wonder, All I need along with the cover of Words are on my Ipod where I listen to them regularly. Although they actually broke up and lost a member "Stephen Gately" who passed away in 09 which I'm sure had its tole on the band they still came up with a brand new album "Brother" which I'm very glad they did because it's a good album, it has good tracks and it really should have more Amazon sales. The album has 12 tracks on it and almost each and every song it either "sad" or about losing a loved one, however there are songs about love too and finding your way back. 1-"Gave It All Away" : If you ever fell in love, or you've been in a relationship where you gave your significant other all you have and still he/she broke your heart. Then you can relate to this song. Beautiful Lyrics, Beautiful Melody and Stephen sings in it along with Ronan so I'm guessing he recorded this song before his death. 10/10 2-"Love Is A Hurricane" : Another song about love. Love is like a Hurricane that is constantly moving when your in a turbulence relationship. Or it can have that stormy effect on you. Good song, Beautiful Lyrics about love. 10/10 3-"Ruby" : To Be Frank, I'm not really sure *who* is Ruby or whether it's a girl or a boy but apparently this song is about him/her. Good Song, Beautiful Lyrics not one of my favorite but it is good to listen to. 8/10 4-"Too Late For Hallelujah" : Pretty Much a song about lost chances and when it is too late. A Sad song, very touchy. 9/10 5-"Separate Cars" : This beautify song is about break-ups but mostly I think it suits divorced people or a break up after a very long relationship. 10/10 6-"One More Song" : Well, the lyrics are sad but what makes it sadder is it's actually a tribute from the boys to their late band member "Stephen Gately" basically the lyrics hope that he can come back for just one more song. Very Touchy one of the best in the album 10/10 7-"Right Here Waiting" : This song is about losing someone that you love and care for. It's also about standing by your loved once side when they lose someone dear to them and helping them get over their lose. A Sad Song, Beautiful Lyrics 10/10 8-"Nothing Without You" : Some people are simply irreplaceable. Even if you lived or went to the most beautiful spots in the whole world you won't feel complete without them and you would rather be with them by their side instead. Beautiful Lyrics Describing the beauty of Ireland and most beautiful is the meaning. 10/10 9-"Till'The Sun Goes Down" : I'm not really sure what the song is about, but I think it's about finding your way in life more like finding a purpose to your life. Good Song nether less. 9/10 10-"Time" : They say things heal by time. Apparently time makes a lot of things especially when you want to make a change and start over again. Beautiful song 10/10 11-"Let Your Wall Fall Down" : A song about breaking the walls that separate you from people and opening your self up to the world. 9/10 12-"Stronger" : Save The Best for last. This sad but beautiful love song is when a last-longing relationship unexpectedly ends for one reason or another. And when you look back at it you just think: "I thought our love was stronger than that". What even makes this song more special is because it's The last song recorded by Stephen Gately thus even make it more sadder. 10/10 Overall, Good Songs and Performances. We hear the other band members contributing in the songs more, Like before they just used to sing the back-ups verses but now we can hear them sing solo verses as well. You won't find any "Pop/Hip-Hop/Disco/DJ blah blah blah" songs here. There aren't any dance materials or any "Preppy songs" What you'll get instead is an album full of sad, sweet songs mostly about losing a loved once and about life after losing a loved one or getting out of a bad relationship etc... So, Yeah this album is in fact a dedication to "Stephen Gately" that's where it took it's name for "Brother" because the remaining band members dedicate the album to him. So naturally you won't find any "Dance/Fast paced" songs in here. I would recommend this album to anyone who loves slow music or to anyone who is going through a bad time for one reason or another. I wouldn't recommend this album to anyone who likes Rap/Pop or R&B. If you liked this album I would recommend you check other albums too like : Science & Faith (US Bonus Track Version) Westlife They are both by Irish Bands also.

This is one of the most talented band-boy groups ever. All of their music is amazingly beautiful. Their voices harmonize perfectly and their song choice is excellent. A refreshing change from today's "main-stream" and over-promoted music. I highly recommend anything BOYZONE performs. It's a true shame they don't perform more often in the US. Can't wait to go to Ireland to see them perform live.
