Editorial Reviews

2010 release from the Irish boyband, their first since the untimely death of 'zone member Stephen Gately. As much of the album was recorded before his death, Gately is featured on the album. As they step forward after what was a heart-breaking and life-changing last year for them, 2010 sees Boyzone at a new beginning; a new chapter in their ongoing journey and a celebration of all that was, and more importantly now, what is to come. Features the first single 'Gave It All Away'. Polydor.

Well, Before I start reviewing this album let me say one thing "I hate mainstream music nowadays". The music played on the radio that everybody listens to, the "popular" music by "pop" artists nowadays dominating the music industry is really not my thing. I'm not saying that *everybody* should hate it, people have different tastes and opinions I just personally *dislike* it because it's meaningless, auto-toned, and all it takes about is drugs, alcohol and having sex with random people. Maybe if I was high or a pot head I would enjoy it, maybe if I was dancing in a night club I would enjoy it but when I'm doing a homework or when I need inspiration or feeling down for one reason or the other I won't be listening to it. However, fortunately "not" all music today is about sex and drugs there are some artists and musicians who can actually sing and have good songs produced who actually mean something. Those artists are found mostly outside the US because the music industry in the states is controlled by mainstream music who is monitored by money gripping companies which only allow certain type of songs to play on the radio thus making it popular.

Irish Band "Boyzone" has been around for quite some time now since the 1990s and I have been a follower of their works since the early albums songs like No Matter What, Isn't it a Wonder, All I need along with the cover of Words are on my Ipod where I listen to them regularly. Although they actually broke up and lost a member "Stephen Gately" who passed away in 09 which I'm sure had its tole on the band they still came up with a brand new album "Brother" which I'm very glad they did because it's a good album, it has good tracks and it really should have more Amazon sales.

I have only listened to it one time but liked the melodies and the lyrics on that first listen. A fine tribute to their lost group member and friend.

I'm very impressed with this album. I've always been a fan of the group, and with this album releasing after the loss of a Band member you wonder if it will still have the same feel as the other. It does. It is also a much more grownup sound from the guys. It is a great album, including several songs that have Stevo's vocals, and also a nice tributed song to the loss of him from the band, "One More Song."

This is one of the most talented band-boy groups ever. All of their music is amazingly beautiful. Their voices harmonize perfectly and their song choice is excellent. A refreshing change from today's "main-stream" and over-promoted music. I highly recommend anything BOYZONE performs. It's a true shame they don't perform more often in the US. Can't wait to go to Ireland to see them perform live.

I hadn't heard of this Irish Boy Band prior to the song "No Matter What". But once I had, I've been buying their music which is difficult for me to find. I just can't recommend this group enough. They have only 4 studio albums. This is their album after Stephen Gately had passed. It had to be a very difficult album to make. I will miss Stephen's voice very much.

This is a great CD from Boyzone! Beautiful compilations. Very sad to only have Michaels voice on 2 tracks, but #6 is a beautiful tribute to him. A couple songs lead by other members as a nice change. Ronans voice just as strong as ever. My favorite album yet (probably ever with the loss of Michael).

I grew up with boyzone and came across this again when I was having a sort out. I put it on and it transported me back in time, just by the sound of their voices. I just felt I had to review this one. This is a great album and I recommend it highly.
