To understand the music of Billy Ray Cyrus now, you have to understand his music
then. His boyhood home rang out with gospel, country and bluegrass. Then, along
came ZZ Top, Ted Nugent, Foghat and every other bad-ass band to pass through
eastern Kentucky in the 70 s, and that was that. A rock n roll hellion was born.
No matter how many country or gospel chart-toppers he had, he never lost his
passion for rock. With Lately, the Buena Vista Records / Fontana Distribution debut
CD from his new band, Brother Clyde, Billy Ray Cyrus finally lets it rip. The band
features former players in the bands: Hole, Mötley Crüe, Snot, The Crystal Method
and Slash. I always loved rock n roll, Billy Ray says. That was a heavy part of
what I was as a young juvenile delinquent. I tried from my first album to rock like
any other Southern rock band. Fate and country music immortality intervened,
but for Brother Clyde, he followed an oh-so-rock-and-roll dictum: No rules.
No limits. No preconceptions.

I absolutely love this CD, I keep playing it over and over in my car. Most CD's have a few good songs and the rest filler tunes. Not so in this case, Brother Clyde rocks. The band sounds great, Billy Ray's voice was made for this! Always been a fan but never knew he could sing so passionately and strong. Hope you come play in Detroit soon. Congratulations, Brother Clyde............you should be proud.

I'm from Germany and if there is something realy excellent many of us say "echt geil"!
I think "awesome" is not the right translation by word but by meaning. Sorry about my english....

I love Billy Ray Cyrus and wasn't sure if I would like him singing without his band Sly Dog. This new group is wonderful too. More of a southern rock sound like the Allman Brothers or Leonard Skynard. I have every cd and I think every dvd/vhs of Billy Ray-you will not be disappointed with this new cd.
