4.0 out of 5 stars Good printer, February 10, 2009
Set up with either cable or wireless, nice for networking. Print quality of photos is NICE, scanner works like a breeze and scan quality is pretty good as well. I like how you can just push a button and you can see the ink levels. There are 4 different ink cartridges so I only have to replace the color that goes empty. Printing is a little slow but it is a great all around printer/scanner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Wireless Printer/Scanner, January 9, 2010

This wireless printer/scanner has been great for me. It looks good, it was easy to set up, and its smaller size is perfect for the cubby I wanted to fit it into. I'm a little tight for space around my computer area, so I'm thrilled with the wireless capabilities which were not very difficult to set up. It prints and scans quickly with great quality and is simple to use.

My one gripe is that getting a good scan can be difficult sometimes, as the scanner doesn't pick up the full area of the glass. This probably is fine for standard printed documents which have margins anyway, but it is difficult to scan in full-page material; I have to offset it from the edge of the glass, which can make it challenging to keep the page aligned properly.

3.0 out of 5 stars On my 2nd machine and it just broke, November 24, 2009
I bought this printer for my home office. The first printer I got was a bad egg right from the start. It couldn't print black ink. Brother was nice enough to replace it for free and so I got a new one. Setting up the first printer was fine, but the second one wouldn't link with my wireless network properly. I could scan and send the image to my computer but I couldn't print from my computer. Brother's technical support helped me set it up but I don't think anyone outside of a computer expert could have figured out how to do what they instructed me to do.

Finally I got the second printer up and running. I've printed a handful of pages off of it and then today it says there is a paper jam. I remove the jammed paper, but the warning is still on. When I restart the machine it just flashes orange. Hopefully tech support will be able to help me out again.

When the machine does work, it works well. Overall quality is good and print speed is about what you'd expect for this type of machine. The scan quality is also good and it gives you a variety of choices for scanning like scan to file, scan to email, etc... There is some delay when a job is sent to the machine and it doesn't hold very much paper, but other than that it works well. It even has an envelope tray. I like the size of the machine too especially for a 2 in 1.

If this printer didn't have the technical problems, I'd give it 5 stars, but since I keep having problems with the machine it gets 3 stars.
