We’ve used this for about 2 months now and have been very satisfied. It was very easy to set up and we have had no problems with it. We have it set up with a “distinctive ring” feature so we can have both a voice number and a fax number on the same physical phone line. It has had no problem handling this and it has always been able to tell a fax call from a voice one. We also have an answering machine, PC Modem, cordless phone, and credit card terminal all hooked up to the same physical line as this fax machine and have no conflicts or problems. The footprint is very small which is nice if you’re running out of deskspace.

The print quality is OK. We use to have an inkjet based fax machine and it was better.

When your comparing prices on these machines, be sure to add the cost of a replacement cartridge to the purchase price of this one (...)The cartridge that comes with it is only good for about 20-30 pages. I get that much junk fax in a couple of weeks. If you decide to buy this one, get a spare cartridge also.

We use this in a home office set up and only get a few of faxes a day. If you have high volume fax needs, this may not be the machine for you. It’s slow and I’m not convinced that it would hold up very long under high-volume situations.

What an improvement over our old oily-rolled-paper machine! I hated having cut those things apart and stand on them after they came in to straighten them out! You gotta love modern technology!

I got this durable, handy-dandy, inexpensive unit about a year ago. Overall, I am very happy with it. Easy to set up and operate, it is attractive and fits very well in my small home office. Forgot to re-load paper before going out on errands and someone tried to Fax you a major order? No problem! It has up to 20 pages of memory. My only quibble is that, with lengthy out-going faxes, it must be "baby-sat" as it has only a 10 page outgoing tray. But how often do you have to send off a treatise?

I use this machine for light home office use and its worked well so far. Print quality is good but not great and the speed is OK, but its definitely not fast. Has a small footprint so it doesn't take up much space. Set up was easy and the owners manual is relatively straightforward.

Buy a spare cartridge immediately though as it only comes with a 30 page one. It works with my answering machine, which I was concerned about - although it does play the message on my answering machine before receiving the fax so some folks have hung up and tried again thinking it was the wrong number.

For the money, its about the best you can do - HP has more advanced (and expensive models - start at around $200) but nothing else on the market that I was able to find had these features at this price (25 page memory, large paper input, phone).

This model was really easy to set up and program. I am very pleased with the quality of the faxes received and copies made. The faxes I sent were also very clear. This is the perfect model for someone who wants a personal fax machine. It does support caller id, but we are running into problems with our voice mail. Instead of rolling over into the voice mail the machine thinks that the call has been picked up and the caller is unable to leave a message, instead they hear the fax sound on their end of the phone. Hopefully, I will find some way to correct this problem.

So the faxing is great, but the phone system has some kinks.

Crisp, clear print-outs. Set up was simple, but my only hesitation is that the film that comes with the machine is only good for about 30 pages. I appreciate Brother being upfront about that in the manual (or other owner's literature), but I wish that the "starter roll" of film lasted a bit longer.

Easy to set up and use. This fax machine does a good job of sending faxes in excellent quality. My only complaint is that when receiving faxes, the quality of faxes this machine prints out is only fair. The print outs are a little faint in spots.

I have had this machine a year now. I love it.. its great for basic personal use. the refils are not too expensive and it faxes perfectly. I use mine about once a week, and it comes in handy if i need a quick copy of a form i need to send out or for other copy needs. I find i use it for small tasks as well. The only problem i have , is the phone hearing portion is not loud.. i can't hear very well on the handheld piece..

It was 8'oclock when I arrived home with my new Brother PPF560. At 8:20 I was already thinking about taking it back. Sure it has loads of features, most of which no one will use, and yes it's not very expensive, but the print quality is below par. When printing a full text page there are multiple areas that are somewhat faded and others that seem almost blurry. My last fax machine was a Sharp that cost a little over a 100 bucks when new and while I didn't love that machine, at least it copied fairy quickly and the quality of what it did print was good. I'm disappointed with this machine. Oh brother. - Scott

I really like my fax machine, it do what i need for it to do..my faxes are clear and readable, for the money i couldn't get a better machine and we really needed this ....with problems from time to time with banks, telephone companies, etc.......i can fax and get faxes with no problem and take care of what ever the issue is without the "3 to 10 business days" wait and it's a copier as well....it's great i can copy all important papers etc. before mailing them so i have a copy for my records and all on plain paper .......i really like this machine.

This was a good machine for first 1 1/2 years that I had it. But now the printer head won't perform correctly and a new one costs more than we paid for the whole machine! It's a good value for the price, but don't expect it to last very long.
