Brother LC41M Magenta Ink CartridgeDeceptive! Claims to be a "New" cartridge, didn't even come with the Brother box that has the date on it! Ad shows the Brother box, but all it came with was the plastic wrapper! Cartridge was leaking ink while still in the unopened plastic wrapper! For all I know I could have been 10 years expired!

Don't believe the picture! This does NOT come in a Brother retail box, and the cartridges don't even have the Brother brand name on it. Looks like third-party ink, NOT BROTHER. Will be returning my order! :(

It is always a dilemma - genuine ink or generic. Genuine ink always works better but costs a lot more. If you want to keep your ink jet printer in top condition, you have no choice but to get robbed.

I will order my ink from this company again it is a good ink cartridge and I am very satisfied

Is it true that using a Brother MFC-5440CN printer to ONLY print black text emails and word processing documents will also consume the three color ink tanks?
It seems to be true because that is the case with a friend's printer: she never printed color and all three color tanks have run dry and, unless the 3 color tanks were replaced, the printer refused to continue printing in simple black.

I thought switching from HP to another manufacturer was going to help out in cutting down on ink costs, but in the end they are all the same. This tank has average life, but not nearly as expensive as HP.

The three color inks are terrible. I never be able to print out any viewable graphics.

No problem with this order - arrived in good condition and in a reasonable period of time

Have started using the Brother OEM cartridges due to ease of installation. Sometimes there is a problem with the knock offs being read by the machine which gives an "empty cartridge" message. The OEM are more apt to read by the machine.

I've only had one printer personally and worked with others at office situations. It's like another reviewer put it---they're all about the same. That is---they're very expensive and they don't last long.
