Quality and price - good deal. These are genuine Brother ink carts in original vacuum packaging, not remanufactured. Many ink carts on the web are remanufactured, but the listing does not make it obvious. This price is almost the lowest for new brand-name black, cyan, and yellow (why is magenta price much higher ??). When I tried the least expensive source, they were genuine but outdated or nearly so - probably surplus. These were very fresh, carts dated 2009.05 expiration (purchased 2007.09)

Is it true that using a Brother MFC-5440CN printer to ONLY print black text emails and word processing documents will also consume the three color ink tanks?

It seems to be true because that is the case with a friend's printer: she never printed color and all three color tanks have run dry and, unless the 3 color tanks were replaced, the printer refused to continue printing in simple black.

It is always a dilemma - genuine ink or generic. Genuine ink always works better but costs a lot more. If you want to keep your ink jet printer in top condition, you have no choice but to get robbed.

Our Brother MFC 640CW is starting to fall under the category of an older machine now after the several years that we have used it. The LC41Y cartridge as well as the Cyan, Magenta, and Black colors are producing excellent quality of printed pages. I like the Brother cartridges due to their ease in inserting them and the machine for keeping the print heads clean and working well. Recommend these and also having some good recent results with Amazon's Re manufactured Ink Cartridges as well. The printer always reads that a cartridge has been replaced and goes right to the cleaning cycle when I use the Brother LC41Y and all other colors. We print a lot of gardening photos so we use a lot of ink through our printer. Shipping and packing is always excellent. Had to contact customer service as I ordered this item along with another item, and it was left out of the shipping container. They replaced the item without question, and we even received it the next day. Recommend Amazon to everyone as they save us a a lot of money.

The Brother LC41Y that I purchased from this supplier was received quickly and was as described and did exactly what it is supposed to do. I would buy the product again and certainly would buy from this supplier again.

cheap , delivery fast, but my brother printer malfunction after 1 yr, so the ink is wasted.

Although the picture & description is of the Brother ink cartridge, the actual item shipped was a no-name "compatible" cartridge. It may work, I don't know, but the marketing is deceptive, and for a copy it's actually overpriced.

I received this product in a very timely manner. I was expecting 5 day delievery and it arrived in 2 days. GREAT Job.

I thought switching from HP to another manufacturer was going to help out in cutting down on ink costs, but in the end they are all the same. This tank has average life, but not nearly as expensive as HP.

I ordered 3 cartridges 1 cyan 1 magenta 1 yellow. The cyan and magenta

cartridges were full the yellow only had about a quarter cartridge of ink in it. Is there any thing you can do about this?
