4.0 out of 5 stars Attack Warning Red, October 14, 2002

This review is from: Brother in the Land (Library Binding)
I think this book would be slightly better if it was a little more optimistic, but there is such a lot of negative views, it is hard to keep reading at points. It is the chilling tale of a nuclear holocaust aftermath, that goes from tregedy to tragedy. Allthough if you feel you could use a reality check this book is for you. Very powerful and grim. Excellant read. Try to think positive.

5.0 out of 5 stars A haunting tale and a good book, January 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My grade 9 English teacher read this aloud in class to us and I always remembered it. I bought it recently and enjoyed it this time around. 14 years later. It reminded me of Cormac McCarthy's The Road.

I read this in highschool and it really has always remained with me ever since. A story of nuclear war and its aftermath. A required reading for this day and age with so much happening in our world.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great un-put-downable read!, July 1, 2006

I really enjoyed this book and recomend it to all ages. The end makes you think about what would actually happen in that situation. The only thing i would say was the new last chapter spoilt it a bit. If you get a copy with it in don't read it. It just quickly makes everything better like in fairytales, by reading the last chapter it makes it seem unreal. I think the writer has really thought about how he has written this book and you can see the reality. Everyone fending for themselves. Its either you or them. I read this book in 2 days and it stays with you.
