If you need a fax machine, don't get this.,

This review is from: Brother MFC-3320CN Color Inkjet Multifunction (Office Product)
It's a simple scam that these MFC things do: if you run out of any one of the color inks you can't receive a fax. Oh by the way, we never print or copy color on it. The color inks just dry up after a while and your fax machines just stop working. Now you have to replace the color inks just to receive a black and white fax. Did I mention, to completely replace the inks in this printer/fax/scanner/paper weight, it costs nearly as much as the fax machine itself?
I seriously believe that the all-in-one machines are just a big scam in general. Save the land fill and buy only what you need, not what they say you might need.

I bought and have been using the Brother MFC-3320CN Color Inkjet Multifunction for about a month now. I am very please with its performance. Unlike the previous reviewer I have been able to produce high quality/high resolution photos and color prints. Granted the default "normal" setting can produce grainy prints along diagonal edges, but if you go into the printer settings you can get several higher levels of resolution and great results. The one drawback I found with these higher resolution settings was they slowed down the printing process substantially. Be ready to do something else for a few minutes on the highest print quality.
The MFC-3320CN is more than a printer. The scanning and coping functions are good but ink is too pricely to use for more than causal use. I especially like the fax function. It worked perfectly and automaticly with my phone recorder once the proper ring setting was chosen. The MFC-3320CN monitors the call and responses if it is a fax otherwise stays on the side lines. If it was not for the slow printing on the high resolution I would have rated the machine five stars.

Print problem,
By A Customer
This review is from: Brother MFC-3320CN Color Inkjet Multifunction (Office Product)
There seems to be a print problem with these printers. I was thrilled to see the price with so many features. So I ran down to a local store to try one out. Both of the ones in the stores had lousy test prints. I then used a picture and did a copy. Even copying black and white. The prints are soo grainy. It looks like it reverted back to 300 dpi prints. I don't see how the machine could be advertised as high resolution machine? Perhaps it is just a software mistake? Anyway I returned to the office and I found several others on the net had similar problems. So I would stay away until brother resolves this problem.

all you have to do is search the web for error 41 brother does not help. i would not buy another brother product if they were the last company. i rather hand write every thing. customer service sucks, the product sucks. they want you to bring you big MFC to an authorized dealer sometimes 50+ miles away, for them to keep it for weeks then ship it back to you for it not work again Error 41. Brother knows about this problem. i think we should get a class action lawsuit. loss business, time, and fraud. they knew these machines were crap and should have recalled them.

I had this printer for 13 months. I loved it because it is very flexible, with decent print quality and great features. I particularly liked the network option and the copy quality.
However, just go online and search for BROTHER ERROR 41 and you will find the reason why I do not recommend it. After 13 months it stopped working with the dreaded Machine Error 41. I read up on it and called a service center. As soon as I mentioned that I had a Brother printer, the guys said, "Let me guess, Machine Error 41." He gets hundreds of these repairs, each time having to replace the print head. In fact Brother extended the 12 month warranty to 24 months (for error 41 only). I seen other people who continue to get this error even after replacing the head. I would avoid this printer and Brother printers in the same class. |
