Nice machine, but....,

I just received this item and haven't explored all its capabilities thoroughly, but I do have two complaints right off the bat. First, contrary to the "Features" AND "Amazon.com Product Description," this item DOES NOT come with an AC adapter. Since the inclusion of an AC adapter was one of the reasons I picked this model, I was very disappointed to learn otherwise. It will cost me another twenty five bucks to buy the adapter separately.Second, the label maker has the ability to adjust the length of the tabs on either side of the printed label (from 1" down to 1/6"). In an effort to save tape, I set the machine at 1/3" tabs. However, it still spits out a 1" tab at the beginning of the label, cutting it at the 1/3" mark (so you get a 2/3" stub of tape, then your label), somewhat defeating the purpose of shortening the tabs to save tape. Other than those two gripes, it seems to work beautifully. The carrying case is very nice and it comes with two sample tapes. I'm sure in my label-making craze I'll go through the eight batteries in no time since I can't plug the darn thing in. :) |
