Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

A real help for sewing or quilting on slippery fabrics or multiple layers, this Brother SA107 walking foot attachment is a moving feed system that holds and moves fabric between the presser foot's upper feed dog and the machine's lower feed for dependable control. It's also very handy for accurately matching prints and plaids. Walking feet are not for use in reverse or side-to-side sewing as well as some built-in stitches that include other than forward movement of the feed dogs.

For use with: CS-100T, LS-2125, LS-2125i, Pacesetter PS21, PS-1000, PS-1250, PS-1800, PS-1950, PS-2100, VX-1435, XL-2230, XL-2600, XL-2600i, XL-2610, XL-3100, XL-3500, XL-3500i, XL-3500T, XL-3510, XL-5130, XL-5232, XL-5340, XL-5500, XL-5600, XL-5700, and XR-40.

First off, purchase this from Amazon.com and ONLY Amazon.com. I cannot stress enough the unneeded deception and BS that can happen when you purchase specific parts like this from an Amazon Merchant. When you purchase directly from Amazon, you will save yourself the back and forth of arguing with a merchant that the Alphasew brand is NOT the same as a Brother OEM. When I order from a page that says Brother, I expect a Brother part, with a Brother serial number, in Brother packaging, with Brother specific instructions. You will 100% get that when you purchase from Amazon.com. As Judge Judy said, don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining when two phone calls to Brother and Amazon will call you out for lying to a customer.

That being said, this OEM Brother walking foot, purchased from Amazon.com, is fantastic for my low shank xr-9000 Brother machine. This and the SA140 are interchangeable, so don't worry about getting one over the other. The only main difference I can see is that the SA107 comes with an extra short needle screw. I didn't need it and it doesn't fit my particular machine model. The foot alone works wonderfully to stabilize my quilt sandwich and allow me to stitch beautiful straight lines without problems.

Again, if you purchase from a Amazon Merchant seller and they try and pull a fast one on you, don't stand for it. This page is for a Brother OEM product. Not an off brand knock off from China that I can go to a vendor at the garment district and get for $3.

For anyone who owns a sewing machine, I would say this foot is a MUST HAVE. There are times when nothing else will substitute.
I am a seamstress and own 6 sewing machines. Two I have lent to daughters, so I have three I use alternatively, depending on my project, plus we have a heavy-duty machine. Recently, my husband purchased a Brother. I was surprised and asked him why he did that since we already have four other machines.
He is a boat-builder and wanted to try his hand at sewing the sail for it. He purchased the Dacron sail-cloth. It is such a heavy-weight processed cloth that pinning it is next to impossible. He discovered a specialized double-stick tape that works, but it is so slippery, the poor little Brother machine was not able to handle this alone, so I purchased this walking foot.
It has made all the difference. I have a picture of him on the floor, sail cloth surrounding him, taking up most of our front room, foot pedal in one hand, along with the cloth, the other hand behind the machine, feeding the cloth through as he sews this difficult piece. I am so proud of him for his efforts and excellent work. He truly feels he couldn't have done what he did without that walking foot.
To my husband I say: Well done, Friend.

I've been quilting for some time now, but without a walking foot... big mistake! The walking foot is a must for quilters because it pulls fabric from both top and bottom, preventing the fabric from shifting or bunching. This was especially helpful with the binding.

Just so you know...I ordered this walking foot and when I received it I had a heck of a time trying to get it to attach to my machine. Luckily my husband is blessed with far more patience than I and went online only to discover that I needed to order another part: Needle Clamp Attachment Screw #54635 "A". I have a Brother LS2125 machine and the needle screw was not long enough to work with this walking foot. I have since ordered and received the screw (from another source) and all is well. Good luck!

The description says that the SA-107 Walking Foot fits the SE 400, and yes it screws onto the machine, however it does not sew correctly!!
The knob that you turn to replace the needle (and the walking foot attaches to) keeps opening and the needle falls out or bends as I sew unless I stop and tighten it ever two or three stitches! The SE-400 takes the SA-188 foot.

I am sure this product works great on the machines it was intended for, but not the SE-400......

I am a beginner at quilting, but when I used this walking foot to make my last quilt I am hooked. It worked wonderfully, the fabric didn't move and sewing was much easier.

I've only used this on one quilt so far but it worked great. It's a little tricky to install but the directions are good. I tried a couple of other walking feet with my Brother machine but found they weren't compatible. I ended up searching to see which walking foot is compatible with my machine model and found this one. Amazon's price was at least $35 less than my local sewing shop. Great buy for a great price!

I was apprehensive about installing this walking foot after I read reviews here saying that it was difficult to install. It came with some directions--in 4 languages even--but I found the directions somewhat confusing, and so I didn't try to install it for several months. I recently did try though, and found that it's very easy. I added a couple of photos showing both sides of the foot and how the screw attaches it to the machine. There's no need to undo the screw on the upper side; the plastic "claw" on the walking foot slides over the stem of the long screw without undoing it. Be sure to use the long screw that comes with the foot to attach it on the left side. I didn't see the long screw at first and tried using the regular screw that comes with the machine. It did work, but it was too short and difficult to attach. With the long screw, it's fine.

The directions say that the foot only works with stitch lengths of 5 mm. (That would be 5 stitches to the inch.) I found that it actually works fine with several different stitch lengths, but I preferred the smaller stitches. (My machine, which is a Brother XL-2600 has a stitch regulator that measures 4-3-2-1 where "1" is the smallest stitch. With this walking foot, my best results were at about "2", but it worked fine even at 4.)

I have only started quilting recently, although I have been sewing for many years. A quilter friend told me that this type of foot is essential, and I unfortunately didn't follow her advice soon enough. Big mistake! This foot is wonderful. It moves the fabric along as you sew, and the underside doesn't bunch up or gather. It's also good for layers of fabric when you're matching plaids. There is a list on Amazon's page of the Brother models it fits. Be sure to buy this genuine Brother foot, not the cheap knockoff. It's a great accessory to have!
