This sewing machine is awesome. My wife has never really done much sewing but found this to be a sewing machine that is extremely easy to use with more capability than she'll probably ever use. It's also very light weight in comparison to her previous models, making it easier to transport. The large table attachment is easily attached and removed and increases your working surface area making it much easier to deal with larger amounts of material.

I am brand new to sewing and this is my very first machine. I found this machine to be very easy to use (even for someone who didnt know what a bobbin was before getting the machine).
I can't say whether it's a great machine for the more advanced or not since I am nowhere near that category, but I know it has been great for me as a beginner. I only wish it came with a better manual. I did not receieve any manual other than a few pages of basic instructions that came with the machine and told me how to set it up.

A wonderful travel machine,

Most of the reviews I've read are from people who don't do a lot of sewing or are just getting back into it. Well I sew all the time and have for the past fifty years. Most of what I do now is quilting and that's the reason I bought this machine. I wanted a light weight sewing machine that I could take traveling. I've been using this machine for the past few days doing some quilting on it and I must say I'm very pleased with it. I think this is a very good purchase price and it's just what I expected from the Brother Co. I have two other very expensive machines and this one does a fantastic job for the money. JK OF ILLINOIS
