Review

"The story expands into the spectacular world of the Fae with our female protagonist being protected and pursued by two exotic male exemplars as she leaps and stumbles through her quest to save herself and humanity. The only problem here: I can't wait for the last books to be written." - Poul Bendson

"Just as wonderful as the first book ... There are plenty of freaky and weird creatures and occurrences to keep me satisfied, and attractive men as well." - Kay, UK Customer

"I know this is a teen book, but I really enjoyed it and I am 60 years old!" Tara, US Customer

"Great Sci/Fi for the 12-15 year old reader" - The Book Runner

I read Brotherhood of the Snake immediately after reading The Glass Wall. While the storyline and the plot is inventive and interesting, something about the story just felt off for me. I know that's vague but that's the best I can describe it. Some choices the characters made didn't make sense. The uber fashion hype of the fae and some of their "cultural differences" seemed forced. I'll most likely read the rest of the series when it comes out, but mostly because it's like a train wreck you can see coming from a mile away but you just gotta know how it ends.

As a book/article editor, I'm always looking for books that will hold my interest as I edit. It is impossible for me not to notice errors, of course. But sometimes I do overlook the errors if the plot is good. This one is one of these books. While there are a few errors in spelling and other minor errors which can all be fixed easily, it does not upset the enjoyment of the book. I rarely purchase books , and prefer the free books. I did get the first two free, and was fascinated enough to purchase the third one. And will purchase the rest of the series.

The plot is one of the most original I've read in awhile, and I could not put these books down. The 3 major characters of Sydney, Rafael, And Jareth, are fascinating as the plot weaves around them. The visuals in the book, especially of the Fae world with its floating islands is quite imaginative. As we follow these 3 on their adventure, it becomes clear the Sydney is more than she appears, and more than even she knows. The Tulpa has to be the most interesting invention I've seen in a very long time. The other characters of Al, Betty, and Grace, provide a very amusing background to evil that they so not see around them. Al is funny, and quite paranoid. Although, maybe he's not so paranoid after all. It is a continuing adventure with little time to take a breath, to relax, and you do not want to put the book down, because you cannot wait to find out what is next.

This is a perfect book for teens probably between the ages of 12 and up. It is also as fun for any young at heart adult no matter what age. It is full of twists and turns, and other things you are not expecting. I love books that keep me guessing what is next, and it's fun to figure out what the author might have in mind.

Great fun, and you won't be sorry in purchasing these books. I guarantee it.

After finishing the first book in this series, The Glass Wall, I immediately rushed to amazon to download the second one. The second book, (as incredible as The Glass Wall was), just got better. The story starts where the last book had left off, right in the middle of the cliffhanger. It pulls you in with the first sentence, and then you find yourself quickly reading each word as fast as you can and frantically flipping the pages as the story unfolds and you just HAVE to find out what happens between Rafael and Jareth, it almost becomes an obsession really.

Again, the character development really paints a vivid picture in your mind of the elegance and unpredictability of the Fae, as well as the evil and ugliness of the mesmers. This story made me even more emotional than the first one did, (I may have even shed a tear...or 10), but one moment I was laughing and then the next I was gasping in shock of the event that I would have never saw coming. Carmen keeps you on your toes the whole duration of her fantastic story, I really enjoy this series and will definitely be purchasing the next one.
Bravo Carmen!

Series is ok but Sydney seems closer to fifteen. The plot has potential but the writing needs more polish. Scenes lose direction and the characters are caricatures at times. I read monster first and it's a lot better.

The second in the series really develops the story. I love the characters, there is suspense and action as well as romance. The writing flows and editing is well done. Again, once you read the 2nd you will want to read the 3rd LOL. great read. Highly recommend in the YA genre.
