5.0 out of 5 stars A must read . . . This book is the TRUTH!
This book speaks frankly about what Black men need to do to avoid relationship pitfalls. It confirms many things about African American interpersonal relationships that I only suspected before.

1.0 out of 5 stars PURE 1000% TRASH!!!
This book is a huge disappointment and disrespectful to the black community. This book deserves NO stars!!! It is nothing but nonsense and not worth the paper that it was printed on!

What's next? "1001 Ways to Rape a Woman without Even Trying"? Wake up my, Brother. Wake UP!

1.0 out of 5 stars HOW ABOUT ZERO STARS?, June 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Brothers Beware: Games Black Women Play (Paperback)
I read the the first 2 chapters of the book and skimmed throuth the rest. The title alone is very disturbing and made me very angry. There are many decent, hardworking Single Black Women out here like myself who do not play games and who yearn for a decent black man who knows how to treat and honor us. Black women today have a hard enough time out here just trying to make it through the day without some scorned black man like A. Marshall writing Black Trash like this. Many black men treat us bad enough, they certainly don't need to read ghetto garbage like this to influence them to act worse than many of them act already. I BEG EVERYONE WHO COMMES ACROSS THIS BOOK THAT DEGRADES BLACK WOMEN, DON'T BUY IT. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BOOK. THE AUTHER DOES NOT DESERVE BLACK MONEY. HE DOES NOT RESPECT OR VALUE BLACK WOMEN. WE NEED A BOOK TO HEAL US. NOT FURTHER DIVIDE US.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dubious Value. Two words of advice: Don't bother!, January 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Brothers Beware: Games Black Women Play (Paperback)
The title of the book alone is enough to make any normal person sick but as this book came to my attention via SPAM mail, I decided that it also important to warn others.

The chapter titles tell you more than you need to know about this book: "Was She Born This Way?" "What He Has Have To Be With Her" "What Have You Done For Me Lately?" "Lies Women Tell Men" "She's Got The Power" "The Dating Game" "The Sympathy Game" "The Suicide Game" "Honey, I'm Pregnant" "She Loves Me . . . She Loves Me Not" "Games Church Women Play" "Young Women and Old Fools" "Games Women Play on Each Other" "Was It Really Worth It?"

The author has obviously has had a hard time with the women in his life, is extremely bitter and wants to rally support for his conspiracy theory.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book will save you time and money . . . ., May 10, 2000

This review is from: Brothers Beware: Games Black Women Play (Paperback)
Too many black men are blind-sided in their relationships with black women because they don't understand what they are capable of. This book confirmed some of what I only suspected and revealed other things that have made me more alert. He challenges sisters to get their act together. It's about time.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Book Worth Its Weight In Gold!!!!, August 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Brothers Beware: Games Black Women Play (Paperback)
I'll never date a American born Black woman again. You got to have the best car, a lot of money in your pocket and some kind of great job. They would rather get with a drug dealer, than a brother that drives a cab. These sisters today don't want a Black man, they want an idol to worship. They must have a superman, best looking, rock hard body, just the right haircut and of course cash money--no matter how they earned it. Look at the men that they were looking for in the movie, 'Waiting to Exhale.' You're in deep shyt if you're a UPS driver or an Auto Mechanic or something like that. They have the attitude of what's mine is mine and what's yours is mine. They're not loyal, they're always on the make, looking for the next brother that's got something more than you. They don't want you to have any friends. As soon as you get married, all your friends have got to go. You can't reason with in a logical unemotional fashion. They're all about keeping up a materialistic image of success like they've made it while racking up credit card debt. It's the champagne taste on a Kool-aid budget mentality. This is the reason I stopped dating AMERICAN born Black women. Their ideal of what love is comes straight from BET's Video Soul. They can not separate reality from video fantasy. I NOW date Black women born and raised exclusively in Africa. Black women from the areas of Nigeria, Senegal, and Ethiopia are very respectful, dedicated to working WITH a man, more loving and are better suited for establishing marriage relationships with if you have traditional family values. I thank God for this Book! I can't wait for the movie! Oh yea, Brothers if you are looking for a good Black Woman from the regions of Africa, "I'VE GOT THE HOOK UP!'

1.0 out of 5 stars A look into the mind of a sick Black man, July 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Brothers Beware: Games Black Women Play (Paperback)
Zero Stars! I can't believe that A. Marshall actually took the time to write this junk. I hate to break it to Mr. Marshall, but Black women have been and continue to be, the backbone of the Black community. It sounds like Mr. Marshall is a tad jealous of Black women. After all, we have a better reputation in America. This book just gives Black men an excuse to not deal with their own humiliation and limitations. Instead it suggests that they kick the #$*! out of Black women.

I am assuming that Mr. Marshall's mother was A Black woman.

Don't waste your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Typical and pitiful!, July 25, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Brothers Beware: Games Black Women Play (Paperback)
Alan Marshall shines as yet another example of why we should KEEP ABORTION LEGAL! He could have been easily eliminated if his mother had taken the time to think about her awful decision to birth this so called "black man"!

Here we have yet another book about whining, paranoid black men spouting the gospel about a whole group of women as if it represents all black women. How pitiful! And a publisher decided actually decided to publish this garbage! Thank goodness I did not actually buy it. A black guy I know purchased it for his reading group. I think he has subsequently BURNED IT!

Maybe Mr. Marshall should look inward to see if he is attracting these type of women based on his own nasty, obtuse personality. Remember, YOU ATTRACT WHO YOU ARE!

Well I can only hope that if he offers more of this ludicrous outlook to the universe he will finally reap what he sows. And finally if you are reading this Mr. Marshall, do us all a favor and DO NOT PROCREATE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

1.0 out of 5 stars One man's bad dating expereinces generalized to everyone., October 10, 1999
By
S. Smith "Sassy" (Jersey City, NJ USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Brothers Beware: Games Black Women Play (Paperback)
The book is very simplistic. There were many inconsistencies with veiwpoints made. The relevance of his comparisons between those of African and European descent were not clearly outlined. There was alot of blame placed on women for the short comings that men have. The book was clearly a vehicle for this man to air his horrible dating experiences. However, his generalizations knew no boundaries. The issue of drugs came up alot in this book and their connection to the topic was not evident. The statement that he made that one woman in particular deserved to be abused is unforgivable. This book is not only insulting to women but men of african heritage. Let's have more books that highlight the positive things that are happening!

1.0 out of 5 stars Crap!, October 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Brothers Beware: Games Black Women Play (Paperback)
Here's a person who has access to a powerful resources that reaches so many, instead of using that to heal, strenghten and enlighten our Brothers and Sisters he drives us further apart. It's pure sensationalism from a greedy, bitter, angry man.

What I find disturbing is there are many men out there who takes this stuff seriously.

No need to purchase the title and review says it all.
