Book Description

The Brothers Division, a top secret arm of the Mossad -- the Israel secret service -- enlists the aid of Jon Warren, an American reporter with Strong Israel connectioins to help them defuse the situation. Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 10 Up-Jon Warren, the New York Times bureau chief in Jerusalem, finds himself in the center of an international intrigue. A group of Iranians is plotting to ignite an Israeli civil war. Jon unravels and attempts to thwart the plot, at the risk of his career and life. Aside from the protagonist, characterization is weak and characters are difficult to keep straight. This confusion is not helped by the short chapters that jump around chronologically. A knowledge of Israeli culture would be helpful to readers, as not all references are explained well in the glossary. A strong point is the use of recent news events woven into Jon's life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Thriller -- for old folks too!, March 31, 2002
This review is from: Brothers Divided (Hardcover)
I purchased this book in Jerusalem (03/24/02). What a great thriller. I found myself as tense in places as I was when I read The Red October by Tom Clancy. After reading the book I noticed that inside the front dust jacket it reads: Ages 10-14. Don't believe it. Read this book and look forward to the next two books of a promised trilogy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Timely and Thought-Provoking, March 4, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Brothers Divided (Hardcover)
This is one of the best suspense/action novels concerning Israel that I have read. I did not want to put it down. The book also provides a vivid description of modern Israeli society and its internal tensions. After reading this novel, I felt that I had gained some insight into this strategic and often misunderstood country.
