Why this was a special collection.,

This collection came out in 1962. I bought it in 1963, and it contained above all else the two incredible songs, "Greenfields" and "Green Leaves of Summer." This is an early album, untampered with, and it had and has a feel of its own. Those who bought it in the early to mid-sixties will still remember this as the definitive Brothers Four album, even if one or two of their own favorites are not on it. It stands alone, and it stands as a whole which exceeds the sum of its parts.

I like about the music of "The brothers four", I`m 58 years, that`s kind of music I've been listening about 25-30 years ago, living in a small town in Finland I didn`t found that kind of CD here, so I`m satisfied to get it. Thank you.

Another customer wrote about confusing B4 with K3. Well, Scotch and Soda was originally recorded by the Kingston Trio with Bob Shane singing the solo. Raspberries, Strawberries (the one about an old man returning to Paris) was also Kingston Trio. The Brothers Four covered many numbers by other artists. They do it very well, but it's hard to beat Bob Shane' Scotch and Soda.

I bought the vinyl version back when I was 16, which was a loooong time ago (or was it yesterday). The humor and sensitivity of this group still rings true after all these years. It's an excellent collection of 12 of their most wonderful songs (missing Try to Remember but that wasn't on the original album back in the 60s anyway). Folk music was very popular in the mid 60s and this was IMHO the best of the best. I used to listen to them on my home stereo, now I play it on the car stereo and sing right along with 'em as I roll down the highway. Yeah, it's the crazy old man who used to be a crazy young man. I'm still young at heart, still listening to all of that great music that came out in the 60s and 70s. If you like great folk music, this CD is for you, and maybe your grandkids.

This is a nice quiet album, definitely easy listening. It would be nice to have a few songs that are a little snappy to intermingle with the mellow ones. Overall, a nice album.

Here you can pick a selection of nice countryside songs sing by the velvet-voice four-men-Brothers-Four. When I was a child a melody that I didn't forget was "The Green Leaves of Summer", included on this CD. Nice flashback of this popular group

This is a classic 1960's popular folk album featuring Greenfields, The Greenleaves of Summer,Yellow Bird and 9 others. I enjoyed this album very much. It was similar to the Kingston Trio's Collectors Series album, but not quite as long.

I love the Brothers Four and this cd was a great addition to my other Bros. 4 cds. My dad was surprised to see I have it and he's asked me to get him one as well, which I will.
