5.0 out of 5 stars Brothers Get In Your Head
I'll keep it short and sweet - buy this soundtrack! It is all original pieces that don't just fit the movie but tell the story of the novel/film to music. Quick, catchy, aggressive punk meet brooding melodies of longing and uncertainty, both of which caused my body to respond reflexively - toes tapping, fingers drumming, shoulders shaking (and all while driving to...

3.0 out of 5 stars this "lost" album is rich with the sounds of the 1970s British underground rock scene
Soundtrack to the documentary, check that, mocumentary that profiles the underground punk rock legends The Bang-Bangs. Did I mention that their conjoined twins. Anyway, if you're going to go with a period peace for your mocumentary, you might as well have a soundtrack to mirror it. Although The Bang-Bangs never really existed, this "lost" album is rich with the sounds of...

I'll keep it short and sweet - buy this soundtrack! It is all original pieces that don't just fit the movie but tell the story of the novel/film to music. Quick, catchy, aggressive punk meet brooding melodies of longing and uncertainty, both of which caused my body to respond reflexively - toes tapping, fingers drumming, shoulders shaking (and all while driving to work!). There is not one track I skip through eventhough there are several versions of the same songs. Incidentally, the brothers Treadaway provide the vocals throughout and one pens a track that stands up to those of uber-producer Clive Langer. Clearly the range of talent in these 2 up and comers has lent itself to the success of this project, in terms of both the film and the music. This one will stay with you for a long time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique, January 30, 2009

I watched a preview of this movie online and just from that I thought the music was astounding, so I went on Amazon and ordered it. When I got it I found that all the music was of a similar style and fell in love with it right away. It's like London's version of a british punk/garage/cult 60's style genre. It's definitely unique.

5.0 out of 5 stars if you love classic rock and punk music, you need this cd!, February 10, 2007
This review is from: Brothers of the Head (Audio CD)
i only wish "the bangbang" came out with more albums during their short lived career because they would have been one of the greatest punk bands of all time. their music is original and with catchy guitar riffs, you'd wonder how they played so good within a short time span. these guys were just as talented as any big name classic punk band like the clash, sex-pistols and ramones.

5.0 out of 5 stars I bought it and I'm glad I did., December 18, 2006
This review is from: Brothers of the Head (Audio CD)
Outstanding songwriting, great production, exciting raw performances.
(I've spent too much $ on high-profile real-life bands who don't even come close to this caliber of songwriting and honest performance.)
Yes, it's "punk" (especially in attitude)but that term seems too simplistic. These songs have melody, hooks, insightful (sometimes humourous)lyrics, interesting chordal changes. The lyrical depth of the songs will stick with you long after you hear the recording.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting movie made 100 times better by the music, November 20, 2006
This review is from: Brothers of the Head (Audio CD)
I'm not a huge fan of "punk" rock. But the music in this movie struck a chord with me. I definitely recommend seeing the movie. I guess I was a bit lost throughout this movie trying to figure out if these guys existed back in the mid to late 70's since it's a sort of Mock/Documentary. Doesn't really matter the music still rocks. See the movie and the songs will make even more sense. Also I'd recommend early Sonic Youth, The Buzzcocks, and even Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
