Beautiful nightmares,

'Street of Crocodiles' is simply the best animated short I have ever viewed in my entire existence. The pathetic puppet-man wanders frightened from room to room, uncannily human expresions playing upon his face. He passes his by bizarre machines, until hollow-headed dolls emerge from the shadows and stuff his head full of cotton. The imagery, chracters, setting, and the lovely music make this film a surreal viewing expirence. The other short, 'The Cabinet of Jan Svankmajer', is a disapointment compared to the former, but it does contain paradoxes and moments of sly humor. It is one of the gentler Quay films. Yea, it is. END
