Book Description

November 25, 1981 A Lythway book
The young woman's body was recovered from an isolated stretch of the river running through the grim Northern city. There was no sign of a struggle; no obvious reason way Joanna Martin should have died. Except that the last person to see Joanna alive turned out to be a smooth-talking nightclub owner with enemies on both sides of the fence...
Detective Sergeant Nick Miller wanted this case badly. He'd pulled the body out of the river and wanted to see justice done. But he hadn't reckoned on an even older code of honor: when the victim is your own flesh and blood...

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Drawer Higgins!, April 26, 2005
Though I've always enjoyed the Higgins novels featuring Sean Dillon & Company it was nice to get away from the IRA type adventures. I really enjoyed this very fast paced exciting police story. Keep them coming Jack!!

3.0 out of 5 stars A good read., April 6, 2005
It's interesting to see Higgins move from spy thrillers to police procedurals, but gadgets and strong, clever good guys haven't been left behind. This is a fun, quick read, perfect for a Sunday afternoon.
