What a charming, colorful book for preschool and kindergarten children, as well as for new readers! The latter will enjoy the challenge of practicing their reading comprehension with the large, clear print. All ages (including adults) will be entranced by the gorgeous photographs of these magnificent creatures.The author does a nice job of using the present tense in sections describing the lives of a typical bear family. Thus she helps the reader to feel the action, interspersed with material about bears in general. Children who need to be read to will clamor to be told this story again and again, while new readers will cherish their skills as they return repeatedly to this lovely book. -- From Independent Publisher
