I thought this was a Tarot deck!,

This review is from: Amy Brown Faery Wisdom Deck (Tarot Cards) (Toy)
I have been around Tarot decks my whole life I started reading them when I was 9. My grandfather read them, my aunts and uncles read them and so does my mom and my siblings, having said that, at best, this is more like an aid to meditation....but if you want to meditate, why don't you try the mantras? This is not your usual "tarot" deck...no major/minor arcana whatsoever. Pretty box, though. Sorry, you cannot call this a Tarot deck..This is a meditation book with Nancy daughter's drawings. Please do not buy this if you are serious about tarot decks...now if you want pretty postcards, and an introduction (very basic) to a self help book then, this is for you....other wise save your money. If you want to learn to read tarot cards start with the Aquarian Tarot deck...if you want something different go with Morgan's Tarot, or the Xultun for meditation go with the Tarot of the Spirit.

Beautiful packaging, but...,

I love Amy Brown's work and was excited about the arrival of my order. The packaging is absolutely beautiful. I just wish she would have put as much quality into the book and cards as she did the packaging. To me, the cards are too thin and flimsy. The book is ok, but not up to the standards of the price I paid for this set. Too bad there's not some use for the box it came in. To me, as beautiful as the box it came in is, it was a waste of my money. I don't need a fancy box to store the cards in. I'd rather the cards been of a better quality card paper.

Nice, but not Tarot,

Like the other reviewers said, this is not a Tarot deck.
But, as Oracle Cards, they are very nice. The packaging is beautiful and the book that comes with it is also nice (it's written by Amy Brown's mom, who is a specialist in stuff like oracles, etc). The artwork is beautiful and always coresponds to the theme of the card. Also, the cards give accurate readings, though I would not reccommend this deck for beginners (if you are a beginner, I would recommend Doreen Virtue's Healing With the Fairies Oracle Cards). My only gripe about this deck is that the cards are horribly thin and for the price paid for this deck, I would have hoped for significantly better card stock used for the cards. This is also the reason why I don't use these cards too often, I am afraid to damage these cards that would to easily, especially considering how expensive they were. This is also the reason why these get four stars instead of five. Had the cards been of better quality, there would be five stars listed next to my name. However, the artwork is beautiful, so any fan of Amy Brown or of fairies will appreciate this deck as it combines both the light and dark, playfulness and seriousness of fairies.
