We bought this flaxseed for our barrelhorses and we are LOVING the effect it has had on them. Their coats actually "gleam" and their manes and tails are so soft and easy to comb through as well. We simply top dress 4 oz. of it on their feed twice daily (8 oz. total) and they really like it because even some of our picky eaters have been finishing their feed now. When we first opened the bag it had a really good almost nutty like aroma and the texture was light but substantial enough to mix evenly with the feed without being so light as to "blow away".
It is also very obvious to us that in the arena that they have all
"stepped up" their game too so we will continue to keep this as a staple in our feeding program!

I bought the 50lb bag of flaxseed meal for our two horses about 9 months ago. They each get 1/4 cup a day with their oats and it does wonders. They are the only horses in the barn eating flax meal and they have the shiniest coats and healthy digestion. I also bake cookies for them every few months and use about 8 cups of the flax meal in that. They go crazy for the cookies! They seem to love the taste of this product and it's doing wonders for their health and coats. They have enough left for about a month or two so I'm going to be ordering another 50lb bag very soon!
