I was very happy with the Backgammon set I ordered. Its put together very well and the case is beautiful! The "medium" size is a great size too, not too small and not to big. I'm really happy with my purchase! (Shipping was incredible too! It came in the mail within days!)

Although I like doing business with Amazon and The Chess Store I am disappointed that they would allow this particular item to be sold under their name. The board and case are of very inferior quality materials and the fit and finish are subpar. I realize this is an entry level set but expected, after seing first hand the quality of their other sets, that this set would at least be somewhat well made. The vinyl outer covering is thin and loosely fitted. I can see it tearing after just a few scraps or minimal rough handling. The interior fabric which I suppose can be loosely called felt is very thin and again loosely fitted.

I would highly recommend spending jst a few moe dollares and going up to the next price level to gat a more well made set. It is definately worth the extra $20-$30 to get the much better materials and workmanship you will find there. I do recommend The Chess Store as a highly reputable seller. I'm just not sure what they were thinking by bringing in this poor set.

The backgammon set was okay, but not the quality of an older set that I have now. The clasps are very cheap and probably won't last long--too bad, as thought for the price it would be better.

I have this same set, except slightly bigger. I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend. The set is durable and easy to use, and even comes with helpful hints for opening moves.

After remembering the fun I had as a kid playing Backgammon, I purchased this set for my kids to learn with. They are 7 & 9 at the time I write this.

The set arrived quickly. Seems well built and sturdy. Hinges function smoothly, without rattles or excess play. The latches are secure and stay in place. The stiching is acceptable for a set in this range. All pieces were as I expected them.

The ONLY items I would point out as negative were that some of the pieces look like they have dust on them, but it wont clean off, it is embedded into the material. Not a huge issue for me as this set is not a showpeice and is meant for my kids to play with. The other issue is that the instructions are limited. Its been 20+ years since Ive played and was hoping for a better set of instructions, the instructions are very limited and not that easy to understand.

Considering this set is on the low end of the price scale, I couldnt ask for more. It is actually nicer than I expected it to be. If you are looking for lush leather, expert stiching, and finely polished peices, I'd suggest you look for sets in the $100+ range. For the under $40 sets, this one cant be beat.

Mine just like this but larger lasted 35 yrs if this last that long it will be an excellent buy.

I'll keep this short.....This product is JUNK! We returned it immediately. Extremely bad quality. Bought another brand for ten dollars more and it is quite nice.
