5.0 out of 5 stars Kodiak XL Chair
I purchased this chair for my extra large son to use on our family camping trip this summer. He was delighted with its comfort and security and it was just his style, too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Has some flaws
I recieved this chair as a gift from my wife. The chair is very heavy built and I believe that it would hold 800 lbs as advertised. The problem I have is that while sitting in the chair, the position forces you to sit too far back, and you also sit down into the chair. This causes the front part of the chair leg to cut off the circulation/bloodflow to your legs which...

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing chair for big man!, June 7, 2011
This review is from: Browning Camping Kodiak Chair (Sports)
I am 6'2" and 430 pounds. This chair fits me perfectly. Once sitten on if you feel like you're on a real heavy wooden chair... but it's made out of fabric and steel tubes...

After sitting on it, I tried to move the chair by moving from right to left but no luck, it does not move, it remains completely straight and immutable. No cracking of tissues and I sat down very hard on it, no need to be careful, it will hold up ... And my god we're comfortable! I highly recommend!

4.0 out of 5 stars Big Guy Big Chair, May 31, 2011

It was wide enough for a large man but it dips kind of far back in the back which can cause it to be more difficult for a taller person to get out. The bars at the front of the handles need to be padded the dig into your thighs but does not bother the skinny folks.
I just put a towel down on it and issues were resolved.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Chair!!!, September 29, 2011

This chair is sturdy and made to last. If your looking to invest money in a chair that will last you through the years this is the one. Don't waste your time year after year buying those cheap 14.99 to 19.99 chairs you see else where they won't hold up...your wasting your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superior folding chair, September 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Browning Camping Kodiak Chair (Sports)
I am glad I bought this chair. Granted it is a little heavier than other types out there but it will out last probably any other sports chair. I envision this to be a fishing / hunting chair that one would not want to carry for more than 1 mile through the woods. Browning has other chairs for these purposes.

After thoroughly researching types of folding chairs, I found many brands are identical in their overall construction. There is only one brand other than Browning that has this construction which is listed on the chair's label. I gladly paid the extra $$ for the Browning insiginia and camo material.

If you want comfort, room, and support this is the chair you want to buy. This chair easily fit my 275#, 6'4" uncle wearing cold weather gear. It is stable as rock.

3.0 out of 5 stars Has some flaws, August 23, 2011
This review is from: Browning Camping Kodiak Chair (Sports)
I recieved this chair as a gift from my wife. The chair is very heavy built and I believe that it would hold 800 lbs as advertised. The problem I have is that while sitting in the chair, the position forces you to sit too far back, and you also sit down into the chair. This causes the front part of the chair leg to cut off the circulation/bloodflow to your legs which eventually go to sleep. It is also hard to get out of once in this position. It is like some sofas that are so soft that you sink into them rather than sit on them. I will keep the chair but will not buy another, you would be better off with a folding steel or wooden chair for way less money.

3.0 out of 5 stars finally broke it, July 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Browning Camping Kodiak Chair (Sports)
My chair has finally given way after about 14 months of occasional use. The grommet in the rear of the seat that goes around the back vertical pole has snapped. Not happy to find out that these are made out of stiff rubber. So far it is useable as the stitching seam is still holding the seat up. I am a tall big man so I was half expecting this chair to break eventually. I should note that I only noticed the break while setting up the chair, not like I was sitting in it and felt a snap at all. Other than breaking it finally, I overall like the chair. It feels very sturdy and doesn't twist at all. even when leaning over trying to grab a beer from the cooler. For me this chair makes me feel like I am sitting in a very upright position. I would prefer a chair that I could be leaning back a bit more in. The back and butt mesh is sturdy and does its job ventilating. Even with breaking it, I am buying another one since there are none on the market that I have found to be as sturdy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding comfort in a camp chair., July 15, 2011

I purchased this chair sight unseen after looking at what was available in local brick and mortar sporting goods stores. I am a big guy, 6'4" 350 lbs. Most of the other chairs have little tags on them that state a weight limit of 225-275 lbs. All of them looked uniformly flimsy. This chair says it can handle up to 800 pounds and after using it in the Sierras, I believe it. I felt like a little kid sitting in his Dads chair or something. It is that big. It is well built and sturdy beyond belief. If you are a normal size this chair may be overkill but if you are big and tall this is the chair for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Large Sturdy Chair, June 29, 2011

This chair is the ticket for sure. I bought three completely different Browning chairs at one time from Amazon. I kept two, and sent one back because it was too small. This is by far the best camping chair that I've ever purchased. You won't be disappointed.... I'll be buying another one in the future.

3.0 out of 5 stars Had better., June 25, 2011

Browning Camping Kodiak Chair
I had this chair for 1 month but its mesh sit is already sagging (I am weighting 190lb). If the chair happens to be under the rain the water accumulates in the pockets for they are water-prove. Armrest's fabric is not stitched firmly, so I have armrest metal sticking out now. With those cons this chair shouldn't cost more than $20. Pros: It is steady, big, not heavy for its size.
