I lived on this block for many years and I knew the old brownstone and saw the old women (whom he sprang his characters from) sitting on the stoop for many years until they both finally died and they gutted the building and made it into expensive rental duplexes. You can rent it now for $10k a month.
It is a great creepy, gothic thriller and had excellent characters based on a few very recognizable neighbors as well. I think Ken Eulo lived in my building or the one next door. I recommend it. I still have my 1982 paperback.

If you want a spooky, dark, old-fashioned horror novel, this is one is for you ! Eulo knows how to built up a chilling story to an edge-of-your-seat conclusion that will certainly give you goosebumps. Totally enjoyable !------------M. Boucher

This book totally creeped me out! I couldn't put this book down! By the time I finished the book it was 3am and I was so scared that I just decided to stay awake! Read it!
