FAR OUT!!!!!!!!!!!,
By Christopher Covais (NEW YORK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Brubeck a La Mode (Audio CD)
This album is great and swings. I like the clarinet. Even though I like Paul Desmond's smooth alto sax, it was nice to here a different horn man in The Brubeck Group. Joe Morello doesn't get much solo space, but his snare and bass accents are cool. I like his Afro Cuban rythm on one song. This album is great. IT seemed to me that BIll Smith was going progressive and dragging Dave's quartet with him, as my title was, Far Out!!!!!!!

Brandenberg Gate,
By Susan Zitron-Woods (Larkspur, Marin County, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Brubeck a La Mode (Audio CD)
I first heard this in stereo back in 1963. I was struck by it then and still am. If they told me I had only one piece of music to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be Brubeck's Brandenberg Gate. Thankfully it has been remastered on CD. I listen to it at least three times a day, and always feel good afterward.
