Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 5 Up-This biography is packed with information on Lee, his films, his family, and his legacy. It includes both the usual movie stills of Lee in action and rarer, more revealing photos in color and in black and white of him with his siblings, in his parents' home, and in a dance contest (he was a cha-cha champion in Hong Kong). Tagliaferro introduces Lee's daughter, whom many writers ignore in favor of her late brother, Brandon. The author gets much of her information from interviews with the people who knew Lee best (including his wife), and the quotes she incorporates give the book an added personal dimension. As with many biographies of larger-than-life characters, there seems to be some exaggeration, as when the author claims that Lee avoided punches "seconds" before they reached him. But all in all, this is a solid offering, with tidbits of unusual information and contacts for scholarships in Lee's name.

New interviews with Bruce's wife, author of "Enter The Dragon" and several of his original students. Lots of pictures. Some I'd never seen before. Solid information.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bruce lee, December 15, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Bruce Lee (A & E Biography (Lerner Paperback)) (Paperback)

The book, Bruce Lee by Linda Tagliaferro, is an action-packed biography, including Bruce Lee in his fantastic movies like: "Enter the Dragon", "Fists of Fury", "Way of the Dragon," "The Chinese Connection". "Way of the Dragon" was later known as "Return of the Dragon" because it was released in the United States after Bruce's final movie, "Enter the Dragon".

I would rate this book with four stars because this book has a lot of action in it and good fighting sequences. The book also shares about marriage to Linda Lee having two kids, Shannon and Brandon Bruce Lee .Brandon was born on February 1, 1965 and Shannon was born on April 19, 1969.

On March 31, 1993 a tragedy happen in the making of "The Crow" Brandon died. He thought he was about to get shot with a blank but instead he was shot with a .44-caliber. Eric Draven pointed the gun at Brandon. He fired the gun and Brandon fell to the floor. The scene ended, but Brandon didn't get up.

Read this book you will like this biography very much by Linda Tagliaferro.

Great book. A very comprehensive look at his life, with some material and pictures I've never seen before. We,ll designed, and obviously well researched. Equally good for newcomers or die-hard fans.
