Great idea, horrible pictures,

Was looking forward to picking up all the books in this series. After picking up this one and the one on Dave Martin, I changed my mind. The main problem is the very poor reproduction of these photos. They look like they were all xeroxed then photographed for this book. The color photos are just horrible. Owning a considerable amount of real vintagephotography, I just can't understand why they released a book by these photographers using such poor quality reproductions. I don't believe they even used actual photographs. I have printed better reproductions myself of jpegs off the internet. The only nice thing I have to say about this series is that the books themselves are well made. There are many better books out there about this subject. |
