Wow!!! WELL DONE Bruce! This man has so much talent, I hope this CD finally gets him the recognition he so deserves. From the rockin' "The Stakes Have Gone Up" and "I Might as Well Give Up Now," (one of my favorites) to the beautiful "Irish Angel" ballad, to the bluesy "Nobody Comes Close" (definitely another favorite), to the rockabilly "Rich Poor Man," he's pretty much covered it all. An excellent collection - there's something for everyone on this CD. I'm thoroughly impressed and look forward to the next one! :) :) :)

against overlooking records this good. I just want to know why this didn't sell a jillion copies...

Kick ass songs like "The Stakes Have Gone Up" and "Two Very Different Things" alone make this worth owning.

McCabe's voice is a classic, unmistakeably unique in rock and roll, capable of bending a note or an emotion or both.

Why this guy never became a superstar is beyond me. You should own this record.

I needed to listen to this today because "The Stakes Have Gone Up" expresses the way I feel so well. Some things did not matter for a while, but we can get quite a song out of Bruce McCabe for "Somebody Mentioned Your Name." When every street has become memory lane, Bruce McCabe suggests going someplace else. Buy this so you can listen to it when you need his advice. Also, it is highly musical and rocks. I love songs about trouble, and it take a real musician to do these like a real entertainer. It rocks like true entertainers having a good time bleeding all over the place.
