Dr. Wilkinson uses the first two chapters of the Book of Nehemiah to illustrate the process of leadership, its stumbling blocks and tests, and how to accomplish the vision God has put in your heart, and not "wander and squander your life".
A brilliant speaker who bases his teachings on sound Biblical principles, there is a lot to be gained from this series of "Sessions", whether you are a business person, a church leader, or self-employed; as a free-lance artist, I obtained a lot of insight from the sage advice in these lessons, which show how to deal with doubt, be aware of your hidden motives, survive rejection, and do "something significant for Him".

At the beginning of each segment, Dr. Wilkinson interviews people in all walks of life who have achieved their goals with integrity and passion, along with the peace only the Lord can give when working for His purpose.
There are 8 half-hour sessions in this set, ideal for a group study for a small business or church, or any individual wishing to fulfill their destiny, and do it in accordance with God's plan for their life.
The topic headers are "The Birth of the Vision", "The Power of the Vision", "The Validation of the Vision", and "The Tests of the Vision", with each topic having 2 sessions apiece. A word of caution: there are gaps between the sessions, so don't stop the tape thinking "it's over" before its time.

The review below is excellent so I wont go into detail but just highly recommend this DVD. Dr. Wilkinson has a magnificent gift of story telling were he turns words into movies full of faith hope and love. I greatly admire this follower of Christ and teacher of HIS word. I cant get enough of this mans teachings and have ordered all his DVD's. I have found the supplemental works of the Jabez serries exceptional.
This DVD is very informing about the trials and tests to expect when GOD gives you a vision. It also challenges us to persue a Vision from GOD for a work HE wants done on Earth and through you and ONLY through you. I do say catch the Vision and here from your Heavenly Father and trust HIM to finish the work HE has started in you. GOD bless and grow in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. JB

I checked this series out from a local church library and just recently completed watching the series at home.

In my humble opinion, this is one of the best resources I have seen on getting a vision for your life from God instead of trying to generate one in your own strength.

The series is based on the Book of Nehemiah, chapters 1 and 2. The main subject areas mentioned include:

1. Getting a vision from God (Nehemiah 1:1-11) - God wires us for a specific vision. You must believe that God has a purpose and vision for you.
2. Enduring the vision (Nehemiah 2: 1-10) - Have a godly passion to see the vision come to pass and endure the journey.
3. Tests the vision faces (Nehemiah 2: 11-20) - Rest assured, there will be tests you will face when you act on the vision.

All in all, an excellent series and I highly recommend the product to anyone, ministers, laypeople, business professionals, homemakers, etc. who has a deep desire to hear from God about what His vision is for your life.

This DVD is great for someone who is trying to obtain more insight on how God can transform your life and business. It gives a lot of insight from other successful individuals on what they have done in their lives as well.

Bruce Wilkinson has incredible insight into the mind and heart of God. He is also excellent in presenting practical applications of ancient texts. In this eight-session program you learn how to take risks, avoid vision "slayers" and reprioritize in order to accomplish your goals. While he is talking your vision may become very apparent. There are also amazing stories of how people turned their vision into a reality. Some of the questions Bruce Wilkinson answers include:

How do you know if your vision is from God?
How do successful people handle fear?
Is your vision based on someone else's needs?
How will you be tested before your vision becomes a reality?

This DVD set is excellent for anyone who wants to learn how to lead with a powerful mission statement. If you want to know how you can achieve success in business or your personal life then this has many answers to how you can move beyond what you believe you can't do to a place of accomplishment.

Don't laugh at me. I have this series in video tapes (not DVD) for about ten years on my shelf and never watched it; one of those stuff you bought at a conference and forgot about it after coming back to your busy routine. Yesterday, I stumbled onto it, and had to hunt for a VCR (a rare equipment nowadays) to play it. Soon I found myself devouring it, staying up to 2:00a.m. One of the reasons, I guess, I kept it aside was because of his Prayer of Jabez book that sounded a little fleshy, so I thought this teaching would be shallow. I was wrong.

Over the years, I have learned from many leadership gurus (including John Maxwell). I have heard probably a hundred lessons from different teachers using Nehemiah to teach vision and mission. I myself have taught it too. Maybe, because of those lessons, I am now ready for this one, since I might not have appreciated the depth of it ten years ago. This series covers all the loopholes of vision development lessons I have ever learned from others. I know, it's God's timing and I can't do nothing about it.

But most importantly, this teaching is biblically sound and theologically correct (the opinion of a Reformed pastor of 15 years with a doctoral degree). God is at the center of every part of the teaching. I also have a vision that has been brewing in me for 20 years to take shape that I can validate against this teaching to find this teaching to be very thorough.

This lesson also has Bruce Wilkinson's life in it. He must have stumbled and fell on the vision path some times to come up with these valuable life and spiritual lessons; he did share a few of them. This series is not as easy as you might have thought because it is not those fleshy motivational teaching series, but if you can chew on every part of it, you are on your road to bear much and lasting fruit for the glory of the Lord.

Absolutely the best information I have received about how to know and understand God's leading as a leader!! Every Pastor / Leader of a ministry should get a copy of this DVD! It will change your outlook--IF YOU LET IT!
