A rare, unique and incredible Brucknerian experience!,
This review is from: Bruckner: Piano Works (Audio CD)
This cd covers Bruckner's Piano compositions. This woman plays Bruckner's Piano works with such fire and intensity! This is really an amazing disc!...for anyone who knows Bruckner already, this presents Bruckner in such a different view. All of these pieces are not what you expect from him. They are childlike and playful, full of humor and joy and fun. What I want to say is that when you listen to his piano sonata fragment, you will be swept away in glory and liquid fire!...this is the only piece that is totally different from the others. You really must buy this rare Bruckner disc, because you need to learn more from him. The sound quality is absolutely amazing, and Fumiko Shiraga plays with dedication and great enthusiasm.

Beautiful playing of this neglected corner of the repertoire.,
This review is from: Bruckner: Piano Works (Audio CD)
Bruckner's piano music is unvarnished and straighforward in texture:not unlike Sibelius's undervalued works for the same medium.
The dance pieces are pretty crude but with the slower music we enter an altogether more unique world.Who could fail to be enchanted by Fantasia in Gmajor or Stille Betrachtung.Sonata movement also has plenty of fire,no mere excercise. The competition comes in the form of a nicely played disc on CPO but is inexplicably recorded on a horrible, tinny period instrument which doesn't do justice to Bruckner's singing lines.

.
Disc features an amazing 27min line of a piano transcription of the Adagio from the 7th. Absolutely worth the price of admission alone. As for the remainder, see: Bruckner: Piano Works. . |
