Bruder CATERPILLAR Skid Steer Loader

My son fell in love with the Bruder trucks at the toy store when he was 2 years old. The skid-steer loader was the first one we got for him, and he's been happily playing with it for about a year and a half at this point. We chose it in part because it was smaller than some of the others and a better size for him at the time.

My son is not at all gentle on his trucks: he expects them to work and work hard. This little loader has gone through gravel, sandpiles, mulch and macaroni in its time, and it's still in great shape. We just give it a rinse when it gets too dirty to come back inside. The mechanism which allows the arm to remain raised in the air has worn slightly and slips if there is any weight in the bucket (probably from sand getting into it); beyond that it has worn very well indeed.

We have since purchased a number of other Bruder trucks for our son and they are among his favorite toys.

We got this for my son's 3rd birthday and it was his favorite present. It has been "working" outside and in the sandbox for over a month. The "hydrolics" under the bucket came out... I think they're just a bit too short to go in and out smoothly. That is why durability gets 4 stars. However, the toy works well without the hydrolics connected. The quality is great otherwise.

My son really loves diggers, so this lifelike toy seemed like a perfect 3rd birthday present. However, the toy's bucket came installed upside down, and there is also a design defect. When the bucket is swiveled all the way down (i.e., as if the digger has dumped its load entirely), such that the thin black tubes that connect the shovel to the yellow arms are fully extended, these black tubes catch and will not retract--that is, the shovel cannot be swung back up for more digging. One has to jiggle the tubes so that they un-catch and slide back into the yellow arms, and my toddler cannot do this. Thus, when he is playing on his own, I have to come fix the shovel every few minutes. I gladly do this task for him, but I should not have to do so. A shame, because these Bruder toys look very accurate and well-built. I hesitate to buy another.

This is my 9th Bruder truck, equipment piece, etc. My grand children LOVE these toys and with a few minor exceptions, they are as indistructable as metal toys. Another great German product of quality.

My son calls this a Bobcat, but skid loader is a lot of fun. He has a lot of the Bruder trucks and this is another great truck in their line. Sturdy, realistic and lots of fun. 4 year olds and older will love this.

This is a fantastic skid steer loader. Any kid who likes playing with trucks and other construction equipment is sure to love this front end loader. It's made of sturdy construction so it can take being played with roughly. Excellent for indoor or outdoor play.

My son loves his "bobcat". Like all Bruder toys, it is quality. It is the right scale for his other Bruder toys too. Highly recommended.

I purchased this as a gift for one of my grandsons. I was a little disappointed in the size (it was smaller than I anticipated) but that was soon changed. My grandson has lots of fun playing in the dirt and it is the perfect size for his little self.

I used this "toy" as a model for OSHA lift truck training. It is detailed, to scale and well made to last. It arrived quickly and served my purpose perfectly.

My son got this toy for his first birthday. He is absolutely in love with this truck, and carries it everywhere. He doesn't yet have the finger dexterity to push the little buttons to make the noises, but when we do it for him he loves it. He can also hit at it and make some of the noises work, just by chance. There are a number of different noises and some great flashing lights, along with a shaking function and it goes forward and back. The lever that makes the bucket go up and down is great though, and he can manipulate it really easily. He loves loading leaves, toys, anything he can find into the bucket and raising and lowering it. The batteries run down pretty quickly, which is our only complaint - but I am more than willing to pay for batteries to keep the baby this occupied! A great toy.
