This JCB MIDI CX Backhoe Loader is made just like the real thing. The frontloading arm has a grip for steering and a locking mechanism in the upper position. The frontloading shovel has 2 positions for loading and unloading. The driver’s seat swivels to allow for the operation of the backhoe. The backhoe has fold-down support legs and is also detachable. The backhoe loading arm is able to excavate below ground level and the scoop steering can be operated using one hand. The front loader and backhoe loader scoops are both changeable. The standard tractor coupling, which is included, can be mounted when the backhoe loading unit has been removed; this allows all trailers and farming equipment available to be used. The soft rubber tires have real treads.

We have a lot of bruder toys. Generally we like them. I really feel that their smaller toys are their best. the thickness of the plastic is the same for all of them, so the smaller toys are relatively more durable. this and the skid steer loader are 2 of the better (and cheaper) ones we've bought. I wish the larger toys were made of thicker plastic; of they could just reduce the scale of all of thier toys. Fun in the snow, and will be more fun on the beach.

The backhoe was beautifully crafted and might be a great toy for children four or five and older. Unfortunately the connections of the front and rear bucket were very fragile and were broken within the first few hours of play. This might be a great toy for five and up, but it is probably too fragile for younger kids.

This item was smaller than I thought it would be but is strudy and heavy, made out of metal not plastic. It is very realistic looking and my toddler son loves it.

Great toy. The boom needs to be a bit stronger.
