this truck has alot of nice features like the realistic sounds and lights and the real working hose that shoots water out about 2', but the overall quality of this truck could be a 100% better. The doors look like they will be the first to go, the pastic is not very durable. For the price I had expected a better quality!!!

My 2 year old is very rough on his toys, but the Bruder trucks he owns have held up brilliantly. For the MB Sprinter, in particular, the doors have seen better days, but they're still there and can kind of open and close. The rest of the truck looks perfect; like the day we got it. These are very well built toys and with a lot of detail

The quality is quite poor for a German-made toy. I saw it today at a discount store for $30 and was surprised how flimsy it is. My sons have Imaginext fire truck (from TRU) and it is well made and sturdy. I liked that Bruder fire truck is so much bigger but was not pleased with the quality. I decided to check the reviews from Amazon and it looks like other reviewers found it cheaply made too. I think real working hose is cool but I really do not want another broken toy in our house.

I think I looked at a dozen different types of fire engines online and at the toy store before finally settling on this Bruder model.First let's answer the question on every parent's mind, does this fire engine fit your child's "guys" inside the cab? And the answer is yes. Within five minutes my little one had procured one of his Fisher Price Little People guys and it fit nicely inside (he also used some Playmobil guys and various other). His older sister put in some fairies and Playmobil characters. The doors open and close easily for little fingers, no snapping or pinching parts. I've seen lots of other top-brand trucks that do not have an adequately sized area for little fingers to get into the driving area and/or doors that are fixed shut. I guess this prevents them from breaking off, but I don't know any kids who won't try to stuff a little toy into a window to pretend to have someone drive the vehicle. This fire engine does that perfectly; really it's surprisingly how many other models I saw at the store that wouldn't open up. Bruder makes it work. Additional key features: cool extra long telescoping ladder with a bucket on top (the bucket is half open, so it fits a lot of different sized guys and/or items without stuffing it in); length of hose that wraps neatly (and apparently a working water pump, but we haven't used it yet); lots of working/opening compartments and storage areas; lights and sound are detachable from top of the cab; high quality plastic and very durable. It is a little on the short side, as there's another larger Bruder fire engine, but it still has a satisfyingly large toy feel, and it also fits on a regular shelf or in a toy bin. Love it! This was our first Bruder toy and we are very happy with it.

This is a great toy fire truck - when filled to shoot water you can turn the crank either clockwise or counter clockwise and it will pump out. The sounds are not loud a real plus. I am a little disappointed in the doors, they come off easy - so I just removed them until the boys get older - they are 2 and 3 now. The ladder is pulled up rather then cranked and has held up so far. I am very happy with this truck, it gets a lot of play time around here, especially putting out fires on our poor scottie dog.
just a side note playmobil people fit in the Bruder trucks very nicely.

My grandson just had his 5th birthday and loves firetrucks. He was so excited when he saw this, his eyes got huge! He even sleeps with it. I don't think I could've bought anything that would top this.
It is very well made and solid. It's made in Germany, which is rare in itself. It should last forever. I didn't want a cheap plastic one. This is also good because the lights work, the hose can be filled with water (not so good for parents), and the ladder is really cute. Great toy for any young boy. Highly recommend it.

I researched fire trucks for a while before getting this one, reading and re-reading all the amazon reviews. I finally chose this because of the doors that opened. I really wanted to love it but I am a little disappointed. On the first day we had problems with the ladder crank. You naturally go to lift the ladder by hand, but it has a crank and that often gets stuck. It helps if you crank the opposite way a couple of times and then back the way you wanted. The ladder is quite difficult to extend and retract, even for an adult. This is also the case for the outriggers/stabilizers. On the plus side, the ladder is quite long and the hose shoots out water to about 7 feet! The hose can clip onto the ladder basket. The truck looks very realistic. I bought some playmobile firefighters to go with it and they are a little small for it but good enough. There are two small storage areas for tools. The lights are great and the sound is not too loud- there are four buttons to trigger siren and lights, horn, engine and lights only. My husband thinks it is worth the fifty dollars and my three year son liked it. He hasn't played with it as much as I thought he would. Overall happy but maybe would look at others such as Playmobil next time.

This truck is very cute and has a lot of realistic features. My 2 1/2 year old loves the lights and sound and enjoys making the ladder go up and down. My positive reviews stop there, however. For starters, we were looking for a remote control fire truck. for some reason, I was under the impression this was a remote control fire truck (this is probably Amazon's fault, though, not the manufacturer because I did an advanced search and found the truck I wanted based on that criteria and what was available). So, I was extremely disappointed to find out that for the amount of money I paid for this truck it didn't come with RC. Also, for the money, I would expect MUCH better quality. Honestly, I haven't had a reason to buy or play with a truck since I was little (which has been over 20 years ago). I guess I was expecting the quality and durability of that era. I expect this truck will break at least one part within the week. I think the doors will be the first to go followed by the ladder. I wouldn't complain so much if I had paid less than $20.00 for the truck. But, for $50 + I expect a lot more. The other thing is that the video shows a little firefighter at the top of the ladder. This truck does not come with a firefighter. Disappointed, to say the least. I am most likely going to return this fire truck and try to find one that is better quality and RC.
