This storage container can be removed and replaced with other compatible units, just like the real thing! The truck features folding mirrors and a cab that tilts open to reveal a detailed engine, and the container has a hinged rear door, side gates that open, roll-up plastic side covers and legs that fold down to allow the truck to drive off and keep the container elevated for the next pick-up. The forklift can be stored on the container in piggy-back style, and features adjustable fork width, easy up-and-down motion and steering that is controlled with a knob on the top of the unit.

I was looking through Amazon for my son's birthday for a realistic type truck. He has so many play toy trucks, but nothing real. I stumbled across this particular company (Bruder). If you want realistic, lots of moving parts, lots of fun, durable built toy, this is the one. I believe anything from this company would be great. I know it costs a bit more, but it's worth it. This vehicle has an opening cab to expose the engine, side doors to expose the cargo as well as the back opens. the entire cargo box can be removed and there's a lift attached. Everything is detailed and works great. The door latches in the back have actual latches on them that you have to unlock to open the door. This thing is great and my son's had it for a month and it's not broken. It has real rubber tires and metal axles. It's made out of durable plastic. You won't be disappointed and I just wish I had had stuff like this when I was a kid.

We purchased this for my son for his 5th birthday. He loves it, plenty of little gadgets to keep him occupied for hours. The only problem is that this did not come with any instructions (and none available on the manufacturer's website) and there are some things we can't figure out. The bed comes off but is difficult and would need an adults assistance. The forklift is supposed to stay on the back but we can't figure how to keep it on. Otherwise, this is very well built, solid material, and great for a 5 year old.
(My son's response when the forklift wouldn't stay on the back: it's ok Mom, it can ride on top) :)

I purchased this truck for Christmas for my Grandson age 4. He knows most types of construction vehicles and the purpose for each. He was thrilled because he also wanted this last Christmas and he is very spacific about what he wants. He loved that the container portion of the truck can be removed and left standing on legs. He used the forklift to carry planks to build a road. No breakage yet but he will give it a full workout this summer. The sides are soft and he has a little trouble getting them up to stay, but that is due to his age. Could have a few more pallets with it, but they can be ordered.

He has quite a few Bruder trucks and they have been quite durable. He actually digs in dirt with them outside. The only problems were with the track equipment. The tracks came off.
