Zedba. THE french group of the year. Generously mixing traditional Arab music with rock rythmics, a good portion of (hip) pop accents and a touch of french "variete", the album is delightfull. Without taking their head off, they find a touching tone, probably because it is simply real. Their sense of humour equals their capacity to hit where it hurts (traduction litterale, si quelqu'un a mieux qu'il m'en informe); and all of this is wrapped into a great terderness, a fabulous "joie de vivre". Quel dommage qu' "essence ordinaire" ne soit pas disponible chez Amazon !

I saw Zebda at Esparrago festival in Jerez,Spain. It was such a different sound I had to get the CD. I was not disappointed at all. The mix could be a little better, but it far from lacks in musical talent. Great disc if your into funky/alternative un lableable music. check it out for yourself.

If you liked their album "Essence Ordinaire" then you will like this album too. It is just as awesome. I like this album more each time I listen to it. There are more than one melody from this album that I just can't get out of my head and don't want to. It is good music to listen to while working out.

ZEBDA, a french band engaged (the singer deals with communist activism). This album is actually the second album of ZEBDA and their best for me. They sing the problems of society and young people but without hate, just with true words and ironical observation of the politics like in "le bruit et l'odeur"(the hit of the album) into we can heard a mostly racist speech of the current president of France (who I guess he would like to forget) with a softly funky music on the backward. This is zebda. (sorry for my poor english)

This is the first album of this french band. A mixture of rap, punk and traditional arab music. Politically charged lyrics. Buy it!!
