There is nothing worse than pulling out 2 books in the middle of lecture and then trying to find a chapter or section with the rest of the class. It was difficult to put both books in my Jansport back pack, and it was difficult taking them out without spilling everything else! Do yourself a favor and just by the single volume to save yourself a hassle. Content wise, there are some sections that go nicely into details, and then there are sections that come short on explanations. I guess you will need a library of nursing books to get the whole picture.

I have been licensed for 2 years. When i was in school, my last semester, this was the book that my professor used as an additional reference. I have been waiting for 2 years for the price to come down and bought this because of the standard that is part of lipincott, Williams & Wilkins. The info in this textbook will never be outdated. It is well organized & structured. Many nursing textbooks leave out very important information. This set has everything from a to z. I will never regret purchasing this used set for $25 which included the cd's unopened & the code for additional Internet access unused. My daughter is preparing to enter the nursing program & she will be able to utilize this excellent textbook in addition to that which the college will require. This is a reference book to keep!

I use this textbook as a supplement to the required text for my nursing courses. Brunner's is a much easier read. It breaks down the material into simple terms and is easy to understand. I prefer to read it than my other book. Glad it came in two volumes rather than one ginormous volume!

This was a great buy! I am in nursing school and it is so much better to have my own book. Amazon was the only place I could find a NEW text book for such a great price. I would definitely recommend this product and the seller. I also love that this book comes in two smaller parts rather one huge book like the ones you have to get on campus. You can't go wrong by purchasing this product at this price!

IF YOU USE THE BOOK FOR CLASS, DO NOT USE THE CD-ROM THAT IT COMES WITH FOR TEST REVIEW!!! THERE ARE AT LEAST FIVE ERRORS ON THE CD-ROM PERTAINING TO THE PRINTED CONTENT OF THE BOOK(S) THAT I'VE IDENTIFIED. IF YOU ARE READING THIS, YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW THIS.

I am very disappointed in this book and the publisher's online resources for it. I tried a practice test today, and two of the fourteen questions were keyed with wrong answers that are contradicted in the text. The text is vague and lacks adequate detail, and at times it is simply wrong. Earlier in the semester, we ran a simulation related to diabetes. I used this book and an online source for references for IV insulin dosing since the two contradicted each other. Our instructor informed us that the online source was correct, not our textbook. Why did I pay so much money for a book full of misinformation when I can get accurate info online for free? This book makes an effective coaster, though. Probably good for kindling as well.

This is a giant book with 2 vol. I used in in nursing school and found it to be usefull in nursing practice for reference. It has just about every disease and condition in it. Over all pretty informative book. I would really recommend for a book you can take to with you to work or clinicals the Handbood for Brunner & Suddarth's Textbood of medical-surgical nursing. It is a 7in x 4in x 1in book that has every disease with a little patho, dx test, and nursing treatments and implications great for ref on the job for the diseases you dont get everyday written by the same authors but a much smaller version.

Bought this book for nursing school. It has helped me greatly along the way.

The format of this book is just excellent plus there is another bonus gift on the volume 1 cd ,, there's 2 cds included 1 per every volume.
My syllabus requires the 12edition even though our nursing av lab doesn't even have the 12edition they have the 11edition.

This textbook was required for my 2nd semester in nursing school. So far I really enjoy the layout of the book and the companion CD is also a big help. I find the required reading very interesting.
