5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous boot..., March 12, 2010
This a "Platinum" model boot from Bruno, and it's a stunner IMO. Not something you would wear everyday, but rather a boot that rounds out your collection. Color is exactly as pictured here, a very subdued gray that will go with just about anything in your wardrobe. Heel and sole are very substantial in weight, yet are very comfortable out of the box with no breaking in required. The ostrich itself is finely stitched and beautifully crafted with no imperfections anywhere. Boot itself feels much like a Bruno shoe, narrow, tapered to your feet, and very business like. I wear mine with dark denim jeans, Graham shirt, and a blazer. Out in public the boots themselves make an immediate statement, so if your a little uneasy with sticking out from the crowd you might want to pass. Comfort wise these boots really shine. This Ostrich skin is very forgiving, and will immediately taper to your foot within minutes making for a perfect fit.
Upkeep will be mandatory for these boots as well, I gently clean mine after every outing with a little conditioner and dry rag. Once cleaned, they are given a 24 hour rest and recuperation before I place them back in their respective dust bags. The only downside I see to these boots is that they are so darn collectively beautiful, and you become very conscientious about scuffing them up to be honest. Unlike leather, Ostrich is both expensive to purchase and equally expensive to maintain and repair IMO, so taking a cautionary approach to how and where you don these boots is a prerequisite.
