Great Scope,
This review is from: Brunton Echo 50mm Spotting Scope 12-36X50 (Sports)
I use this scope everyday at work.
It's easy to focus and has bright optics. Brunton makes some of the very best at affordable prices. I highly recommend this scope.

I am using this spotter for short range shooting (up to 600 yards) and find it to be an excellent but inexpensive scope. It is compact and has very clear optics. It requires a tripod which is not furnished but it's standard tripod mount fits the majority of camera type tripods.

I purchased this spotting scope for back country hunts and the shooting range. For the price it is a wonderful scope. It is not as clear as some of the high dollar scopes, but competes with the medium priced optics (e.g., Nikon, Leopold, etc). It is extremely compact and light weight. It is very clear and crisp even at the 36 power. It doesn't give you eye strain even after long periods of use. I would highly recommend this scope if you are looking for a small light weight scope when cost, space, and weight are an issue.

Pros: Light in weight, easy focus that is not stiff and no slop in it, easy adjusting eye piece to zoom in and out, compact size that delivers in image quality. If you were looking for a compact optic that performs to pack on a hunt, hike, or to the range that can do 100yds easily, this is the optic. It was worth every penny for a compact scope that has exceptional clarity at it's highest 36X power. It comes with a soft case with space to hold a compact tripod. It comes with a hard protective screw down eye guard to protect it in a pack. I was skeptical at first because Brunton makes everything from compasses to solar panels in manufacturing. However, they did this product better than some other full time dedicated optic companies. Cons: Does not come with a tripod or hard case. It comes with a medium sized soft case. You will have to get a tripod, but that is no big deal as a quality tripod is easy to come by. Eye relief could be better. The clarity at high mag makes up for these minor inconveniences. Bottom Line: Exceptional quality glass in this compact spotting scope. It is better than the compact Vanguard High Plains Spotting Scope in clarity and focus. The Vanguard has a hard case, solid tripod and soft field case. So the Vanguard has more accessories for a complete system while the Brunton Echo has a better compact / lightweight clear glass as a specific optic. Both are very nice for the price, but the Brunton Echo in my opinion is a better optic with faster easier focus and clarity in glass. If I had to pack an optic, it would be the Brunton Echo over the Vanguard or Bushnell HD. If I had to buy a complete package, it would be the Vanguard which Winchester also markets after they painted it green and suited it more toward hunting applications as a package deal they sell on amazon. In my opinion better clarity than the Bushnell HD optic that sells around $300 that is quite a bit larger in size and weight. Too large in my taste in size and weight where other optics can do it's job and do it with less size, weight, and better clarity. The Echo is a great optic for vehicle window mount purposes and as an ultralight compact optic with great lens clarity and ease of use. I would recommend this to my friends to buy for a compact range bag optic, and pack for hunting trips. I have the Vanguard as a backup optic and will use the Brunton as my main dedicated one. I have larger more powerful spotting scopes, but unless you are doing dedicated long range shooting, I don't need them when I have the Brunton Echo to throw in the range bag. I would buy this optic again without reservation it is that good. It is smaller than the Vanguard and in my opinion, out performs it.

I wanted a spotter for my hunting pack and didn't have a lot of money to throw at one of the bigger names. I'm glad I didn't, this scope is exactly what I wanted. There may be better optics out there but not within a couple hundred dollars of this scope.

We own some binoculars we consider to be very good; Nikon 8x40 and an older Bausch & Lomb 8x32. We needed a more powerful bino/scope for some applications. After looking at the marketplace offerings and our budjet we decided to give this Brunton scope a try. It just arrived and so far I am impressed. The image is bright and clear with good contrast. It would appear to be a great buy. We'll see how it performs out in the field over the weekend.
