I bought the brunton orion because it supposed to be brighter than any lantern out. It is very bright but the brunton mantels are garbage, strings break, they don't fit right, I went through 6 in a row before I wised up and put coleman mantels on that work great. I also broke the globe and was able to put a coleman globe on it that cost only a third of the brunton globe. The coleman mantels and globe were available at a little store a mile from my hotel room where I was clam digging. I had to order brunton mantels and globe because nobody had them. My advice is to buy a coleman because you can get mantels and globes anywhere. I could buy three colemans for what I paid for the Brunton and I wish I had.

The description of this lantern sounded great. It came in a more compact case than my former Coleman lantern. The lantern globe however was amazingly fragile for the listed cost of this lantern. The globe easily shattered before even getting a chance to use it. My Coleman lantern globe was thicker and sturdier. The cost of a new globe more than negated the sale price I paid for the lantern. I should have stayed with a Coleman.
