This thing is small. Fits underneath my MSR 4oz canister and then into my .9 liter TiWare pot. Ultra Light and packs a punch. Performed a burn test and it boiled water a little bit slower than the specs at 120ft elevation. It took about 4 and a half minutes on full blast. The simmer is near perfect however, and since I sacrifice gear weight for good food....I love this little guy.

After comparing this stove with the MSR Pocket Rocket and Optimus Crux, I bought one. I have the Brunton Cub, which I love, but wanted something small and compact for day hikes and easy overnights. Well, it IS small and compact, but I have to say it does not inspire confidence in its durability. The arms are way too delicate and not attached real securely (in my opinion). And about the only cooking vessels I would ever use on it are my backpacking tea kettle, my GI cup, or the GSI cup. Anything larger, like a small frypan or larger cookpot, will be too much for it-- and just too top heavy. Even with the optional fuel can stabilizer, this thing is tippy. I also had to send my first one back because of some excessive wobble in the burner. Brunton was very good about a replacement--but I had to pay for the shipping.

I don't think this stove is really up to Brunton's usual standards. A re-design of the arms is definitely in order. At $60 + it is a lot of dough for something that is not bomb-proof. If you are thinking about this stove for an ultralight backpacking trip that lasts over a week, you might want to take two--just in case one breaks.

Sorry Brunton--and you almost lost me on this one.

What's not to love. Sturdy, tiny, works as advertised...everytime! It doesn't get any better than this.
