As I write this, all my power is out and has been for almost 24 hours. I have 3 devices I used to charge my electronic devices during this time. Each of the 3 were fully charged and charged roughly the same types of devices - iphone and mp3 player and a portable wifi device.

Withine the first couple hours the other 2 chargers died - New Trent iTorch IMP52D 5200mAh External Battery Charger for The NEW iPad the 3rd Gen ipad, iPad2, iPhone 4S 4 3Gs 3G, iPod Touch (1G to 5G), Android (Samsung Galaxy Note S S2, HTC Sensation EVO Thunderbolt, LG Optimus V), Blackberry (Bold curve Torch),... and Kensington Portable Power Pack for Mobile Devices (K38021US).

In addition to the observation that the Brunton holds an impressive amount of power, it maintains it while stored. I last charged it half a year ago and it indicated a full charge when I turned it on yesterday.

I recognize that the Brunton currently costs more than the other two chargers, but when I purchased them they roughly cost the same amount, thus I am not deducting any points for price.

I bought this item as a power back up for my iPhone although the Inspire will work with other battery opperated items such as my digital camera. The only draw back is that although both the packaging and the Brunton website say that it can be used with a variety of adaptors, I have not been able to locate any and Brunton apparently does not sell any. I have to use the charge cord that came with my iphone.

I used this unit to charge my BlackBerry 9700. It may be a little unfair because my 9700 uses a lot of current to charge. I was able to get only 2 charges out of this battery, both times my 9700 was just half discharged. The battery would be great as an emergency charger to get you through the day. If you were in the woods for more than a weekend with a high current draw phone, this would get you through the weekend, but that's about it.

I love this little unit. Very lightweight, easy to travel with. Holds the charge for an incredibly long time - it's been at least 6 months since I charged it up, and today it worked just fine. Charges iPhone 4s easily, as well as my Kindle(s). Remember to remove the grey cord, and press the power button to start the charging process. I'm considering adding the solar version, even easier for travel.
