A good kit, but probably not what you want.,

Executive summary:
Knife is not useful. Spoon is most useful but too short. Fork is modestly useful. If you know you need all this, then buy the kit. But for most backpackers, buy a separate long handled titanium spoon. Or, look for a spork you actually like (yes, I know there is a bias against sporks, but really they are very practical). The long version of my review: I was wanting to get this set for a while, and my wife finally bought it for me for Xmas. I am an avid backpacker, and over the years I am trying to reduce the weight of my gear, and this seemed to be a good choice. Here is what I have to say: The kit as a whole: I like how they are clipped together, better than some passive sliding locking system. You can also use the loop for other food related items, and keep it all together. The knife: Not useful, redundant. I carry a couple sharp knives with me anyway, and a dinner knife just isn't that useful out in nature. You wouldn't want to use it to cut an apple up. It seems perfect for cutting up cooked carrots or something of that nature. In short, you think you need it because you use it at home, but when you get out in the field you really don't. The spoon: The most used part of the kit, good for stirring soup, tea, or eating cooked freeze dried food. HOWEVER it is too short (at 6.375 inches long) to eat out of a food bag (a la backpacker's pantry or mountain house) without getting food all over the handle where you have to hold it. There are some long handled titanium spooons which work much better. The fork: It serves its purpose. I feel ambivalent about it, I could get by without it. If you don't need the ultralight, just get a "hobo knife" or "hobo tool" there are many here on Amazon. If you need ultralight, grab a titanium spoon only, or a titanium spork.

nice, strong lightweight flatware,

I used to just being an old SS fork and spoon (from an old set) that I drilled a hole in the handle to loop a bit of rope. I got done christmas shopping early and had a little left over so I thought I'd treat myself. boy... this whole set weighs less than my old SS soup spoon. In addition to weighing a bunch less, they're quite a bit stronger too. I interlaced the tines on this fork into the tines of my old SS fork and bent the two.... the SS tines bent, the titanium ones didn't. Of course, they're not MEANT to be pry tools, I just wanted to compare. There is NO comparison to any of the cheaper brand SS flatware.... and I HATE plastic flatware (even lexan) as I sometimes use my flatware to cook with, and I've melted more lexan forks than I care to remember (which is why I switched to my old SS). Regarding what someone else said about mfr defects, I guess that can happen with anything, whether it be a true MANUFACTURING defect or if it's some sort of damage (something fell on it at the warehouse) causing bent tines or the like.... I've had other Brunton items in the past, and they're pretty easy to work with.... but for the sake of bent or misaligned tines, I'd just take a pair of pliers to it if it was me. Eat well on the trail.

I have purchased Optimus Titanium 3-Piece Cutlery Set (fork, knife, spoon) and Brunton My-Ti 3-Piece Titanium Flatware Set. Both of them are very useful and must have for the picnics. I liked the Optimus design more than Brunton one, but the knife from that set has no sharp edge. That's why I give 4 stars to Optimus and 5 stars to Brunton.

This is the best set of camping flatware that I have used. They are strong, lightweight, and clean up very easily. The included carabiner is handy for keeping all my utensils together - I keep two sets of these Brunton utensils and one long titanium spoon on one 'biner. Previously I was always losing my old lexan utensils.
These are also a good value compared to other brands' sets.

I bought the Brunton My-Ti set for the office, to reduce use of plastic flatware. They work great, and clean up very easily. Though they're lightweight, they have been very durable so far, with no bending. They're obviously much stronger than plastic utensils, too.
Perhaps my only complaint is that they set is a wee bit pricey. However, they seem as if they'll last long enough to make it worthwhile.

This flatware is everything that you need to enjoy your meal. Although the utensils are light they still have a comfortable easy to hold feel during use. They are adequately sized so you do not feel as though you are eating with a child's flatware set. I found the spoon to be a good compromise between a standard teaspoon ans a soup spoon. Nice serrations on the knife for slicing. I am glad that I decided to go with this set, no complaints!

This is an excellent product. It is absolutely identical to the Optimus Titanium 3-Piece Cutlery Set (fork, knife, spoon) by Optimus, with one significant difference:
it sells for $6.15 less. Need I say more?

I bought these cuz I was sick and tired of getting take-out food and having the plastic forks break. This set includes fork, spoon and knife. Fit and finish is excellent; however, be aware that titanium scratches easily (but for camping utensils, who cares, right?). The flatware is connected for storage at the handles by a small mountaineers ring. For hikers, this set is light as a feather. I keep it in a zippered small gps case and just toss it in my flight bag. I highly recommend this set.

Great for camping or in your lunch box.,

Our family are backpacking campers. We make a big deal out of loading our backpacks with everything we need while striving to keep them as light as possible. I bought one My-Ti Titanium flatware set for my husband. We all loved it so much that I ordered more for me and our son. They are light weight, come with a link to keep them all connected, and we prefer them to the "sporks". When we aren't camping, they are in our lunch packs and/or picnic supplies. Amazon.com had them at the best price.

I bought this set for weight with the idea of backpacking. I take them camping, use them in my lunch box during the week, use them anytime Im going somewhere that typically will require flatware but isnt provided. Would use these as a sub for plastic flatware any day! Im thinking of getting a 2nd set to keep at a foreclosed house Im working at for mid day & evening cookouts.
