Digital Compasses 4 out of 5,
This review is from: Brunton Nomad V2 Digital Compass (Sports)
The compasses were shipped and received promptly. Four of the five worked perfectly. Unfortunately one the the compasses could not be calibrated correctly and was off by at least 5 degrees. This compass needs to be returned.

Brunton Nomad V2 Digital Compass-Back To The Drawing Board,
By
This review is from: Brunton Nomad V2 Digital Compass (Sports)
I received my Brunton Nomad V2 Digital Compass today. I bought it as a tool for determining the bearing to a mark in sailboat racing. Two key problems with this product:
1) No sight. A sight or line or set of guides is needed to get a reasonable bearing. Very strange that a DIGITAL COMPASS that even has a setting for the DECLINATION ANGLE -- HAS NO SIGHT!! Without one, you can not obtain a good bearing. 2) There are FOUR TINY BUTTONS that operate the device, namely stop/setup, mode, bearing and start. These buttons are so tiny and so close together that you must look at the device to locate the one you want to use. Some of the button functions are marked on the bevel of the device, but not all are. That means you will need to keep your instructions to find the other functions that are not marked on the device. Finally, the instructions reference these four buttons as S1, S2, S3, S4, however there are no such markings on the device. This nearly $50 device falls short on practical use. With a few minor design changes, it could be very useful.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

compass is totally inaccurate, I work in the solar industry and I have to recalibrate this thing every time I try to get a reading, My boss bought the same one and his also sucks. We went back to our old reliable liquid filled hand helds. whats the point of having digital readouts when each time you use it, it has a different reading. don't waste the money, they are not reliable.
