Product Description

Take the next step in solar power technology with the Brunton SolarRoll, the first flexible solar panel on the market. Backed by glowing reviews and a pioneering mindset, the portable SolarRoll folds up and stores in a convenient storage tube, so you can take it on everything from mountaineering expeditions to family camping trips. Yet despite its lightweight profile, the unit delivers a solid 9 watts of power, enough to run a cell phone or charge digital still and video cameras. To increase the power output, simply buy additional SolarRolls and link them together. Plus, the unit's Tefzel fluoropolymer construction is extremely durable, so you needn't worry about rips, while the integrated amorphous thin-film solar cells are effective even in low-light conditions.

The SolarRoll, which measures 12 by 40 inches when open and weighs a mere 10.6 ounces, includes a battery clamp cable for charging car batteries, along with a vehicle outlet cable and multi-linking cable. It's also backed by a one-year warranty.

Product Description

Our drive and desire to pioneer a line of rugged power sources led to the introduction of the first flexible solar panel, the SolarRoll. Since then, the evolution of this concept has flourished. Backed by glowing reviews in every major magazine and newspaper in this country and others, the SolarRoll¿ has officially taken its place as one of our most talked about products. The proof, though, is in the remarkable performance. Ideal for powering satellite phones; members of expeditions worldwide pack the SolarRoll in place of expensive extra batteries that don't offer much relief in the form of weight. One Year Warranty. The comments made have nothing to do with the product or its uses. They have a good point as to the lack of proper discription of the product. These are panels are excellent for their intended job. While they do not reach the highest theoretical charging numbers, they are good at producing power in the REAL world. For example, on boats and other moving objects where the panel is best mounted flat. They also continue to produce power at much lower light levels, e.g., cloudy days. That being said, they are only part of a system. You don't buy tires and expect to drive arround town without the car do you? HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED: 1. battery(s) With a small panel and big battery(s) and another power source you could be ok. 2. Charge controller 3. If you plan to power 110v products an inverter. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING READ A TEXT SUCH AS THE 12 VOLT BIBLE! IT IS POSSIBLE TO HURT YOURSELF DIRECTLY, CAUSE A FIRE, AND DAMAGE THINGS! It's not hard or rocket science but you need to do a little research.

Verified Purchase
Please make sure you educate yourself before purchasing the solarroll. My problem was that I didn't realize I would have to buy a car charger for all of my peripherals that I wanted to plug in. Either that or you have to also purchase a brunton solo (which I haven't done yet because of funds). Besides that it charges fine.

I hiked the AT with this and it worked well for my phone so I could maintain a blog. It works best from 10am-3pm. The negative comments are coming from people that don't understand AC vs DC electricity. You WILL need your car charger with this.
